Job Summary:

This position is for an HSE Manager at our Connersville, IN location. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to maintain compliance with all OSHA/EPA/NFPA/DOT and TS/OHSAS programs. Duties include developing technical policies, programs, and procedures to achieve regulatory compliance, providing technical assistance to facility managers, develop and maintain relationships with regulatory personnel, conduct internal audits, record keeping, industrial hygiene, risk assessment and hazard communications. This position reports to the Plant Manager.


Required Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health Management from a four-year college or university.
  • Two years related experience and /or training.
  • Manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Formal Leadership training. (Manage multiple objectives and deadlines)
  • 5+ years of experience in HSE.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • CSP, CIH, CHMM Certification.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization (verbal and written) with a high level of competence.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in and through teams, at all levels of the workforce; including providing expertise related to policies, procedures and services in HSE functional areas.
  • Experience with ISO 14001 and OSHAS 18001.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide a safe working environment for all in the employees; drive the safety culture within the organization.
  • Responsible for identifying and assisting with correcting any unsafe conditions within the company. Conduct and manage risk assessments as necessary.
  • Lead and implement corporate facility safety, health and environmental technical standards to be followed by plant personnel in compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
  • Responsible for completion of accident investigations and correct preparation of serious incident reports.
  • Interact with OSHA/EPA regarding formal complaints and inspections. Manage all HSE activities related to outside governmental agencies and non-governmental organizations.
  • <10% travel required.
