General Description:

This full-time position provides a wide range of bookkeeping and deposit operations functions, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional service to both external customers and internal bank personnel. A key component of this role is professional verbal and written communication, especially when assisting customers with account issues through phone, email, and secure chat. Additional responsibilities include processing returned items, verifying checks on flagged accounts, handling account research and verifications, and supporting various back-office functions such as ACH disputes, tax-related holds, and death notifications. Accuracy, organization, and responsiveness are essential in this role.

Skills and Characteristics for Applicants:

The qualified candidate should have excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities, as well as strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines. Effective communication is essential, including clear and professional verbal and written interactions across multiple channels. All forms of communication must be relayed in a professional, courteous manner, and presented concisely and accurately. The ability to thoroughly and accurately assess and resolve account-related issues is required. A collaborative and courteous approach with both customers and coworkers is a necessity, along with the ability to maintain a professional presence at all times. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required, and experience with secure customer messaging systems (such as Banno) and core banking systems (such as Jack Henry Silverlake) is preferred. Previous experience in banking, bookkeeping, or deposit operations is strongly preferred.

Educational Requirements:

Educational requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent. Additional training or experience in banking or financial services is preferred.
