The School of Education, Social Work, and Psychological Sciences at the University of Missouri-Kansas City is continuously seeking qualified candidates for adjunct faculty teaching positions. This includes positions to teach coursework offered by SESWPS in service to UMKC Essentials, the campus-wide general education program for undergraduate students. THE INTENT OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS TO IDENTIFY A POOL OF ADJUNCT FACULTY WHO ARE QUALIFIED TO DELIVER GENERAL EDUCATION COURSES. Specifically, SESWPS staffs UMKC Essentials coursework in the following areas: Critical Thinking (in the natural sciences, social sciences, and arts and humanities), Civic and Urban Engagement, and Culture and Diverse Perspectives. UMKC instructors also contribute to teaching in the First Semester Experience course. Courses are taught in face-to-face, online/synchronous and online/asynchronous modalities; opportunities for specific modalities depend on availability and which specific course is being taught. This position is part-time, not eligible for benefits, unranked academic position. Hours vary according to the opportunity. Contracts are generally issued on a semester-by-semester basis. Qualifications

Anticipated Hiring Range
A flat adjunct salary is determined based on the number of courses being taught. Adjustments may also be made due to class size. Application Materials

Transcripts reflecting the highest degree earned and any other degree that may be relevant for the course assignment are required before final hire.
