What this job involves: As an Operating Engineer at JLL, you will be responsible for performing essential maintenance and repair activities that keep our facility operating at peak efficiency. This hands-on role requires technical expertise across multiple building systems including mechanical, plumbing, structural, and life safety components. You'll conduct regular preventative maintenance, respond to service requests, and ensure all equipment operates according to specifications. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality control will help maintain optimal facility conditions while adhering to safety standards and operational protocols. What your day-to-day will look like: Perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire and life safety systems Conduct preventative maintenance activities including cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and replacing parts on HVAC equipment Record equipment readings and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper operation Monitor and maintain inventory of tools, parts, and maintenance supplies Review service request summaries to identify and address recurring operational issues Evaluate vendor and supplier performance for quality and competitive pricing Verify accuracy of deliveries for count, pricing, and proper specifications Monitor contractor work quality and pricing for outsourced maintenance tasks Required Qualifications: Experience in building maintenance and systems operation Technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and other building systems Understanding of preventative maintenance procedures and practices Ability to safely handle tools, equipment, and hazardous materials Strong attention to detail for quality control and inspection activities Basic inventory management skills for maintenance supplies Ability to read and interpret equipment specifications and maintenance manuals Commitment to workplace safety protocols and procedures Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in commercial facility maintenance Technical training or certification in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical systems Experience with building management or control systems Knowledge of fire and life safety systems and compliance requirements Vendor management experience Familiarity with maintenance work order systems Problem-solving skills for diagnosing equipment issues Experience with quality control processes in maintenance operations Location: On-site -Texas - Other If this job description resonates with you, we encourage you to apply, even if you don't meet all the requirements.
