Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company has an immediate full-time opening in our Statutory Reporting and Analysis department for an experienced, self-motivated, detail and results-oriented State Reporting Supervisor who will be responsible for overseeing a wide range of department of insurance state filings and compliance. This position will actively participate in an environment that embraces change and innovation, learning, and interactive feedback while adhering to finance policies, procedures, and internal controls.

  • Estimated Salary:$85,000-$95,500, plus annual bonus opportunity.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:



  • Oversee the monitoring of department of insurance state checklist to ensure compliance for company permits, licenses, fees, assessments, and miscellaneous filings.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Tax to ensure successful completion of Premium Tax submission and payment.
  • Drives execution on ideas to improve business process across enterprise functions and knowledge in the workplace.
  • Actively coordinate with state departments of insurance, auditors, and other outside regulatory parties.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for all Finance-related compliance updates from the Compliance team, acting as the subject matter expert (SME) and ensuring accurate dissemination of information across relevant stakeholders.
  • Actively coaches and mentors direct reports and other staff.



WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Communicate effectively verbally, non-verbally and in written formats, with peers, internal business partners, and regulators while tailoring content and approach to the intended audience.
  • Ability to utilize creative thinking, learn new technologies and apply this knowledge to optimize business processes.
  • Self-driven with demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity, influence change with peers and business partners.
  • You promote a culture of diversity and inclusion, value different ideas and opinions, and listen courageously, remaining curious in all that you do.
  • Able to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico.



PREFERRED:



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • Insurance industry experience preferably in the state reporting/filing field.
