Director of Pediatric Surgery

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) has an opportunity for aDirector of Pediatric Surgery at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County. Kings County Hospital operates a world-renowned Level I Trauma Center, one of only three in Brooklyn, which serves 2.6 million residents of Brooklyn and Staten Island.

Opportunity Details:

• Collaboratewith the Chief of Surgery to ensure that all surgeons and ancillary staff within the Kings Pediatric Surgery Division meet or exceed the standard of care in treating pediatric surgery patients.
• Assist the Chief of Surgery with quality assurance and performance improvement efforts, including the development and tracking of departmental metrics for the General Surgery Department and Pediatric Surgery Division.
• Oversee day-to-day administrative and clinical operations of the Kings Pediatric Surgery Division, such as creating the monthly pediatric surgery call schedule.
• Support the Chief of Surgery in growing operative case volume within the division.
• Partner with the Chief of Surgery in recruiting attending physicians and ancillary staff to fill open roles in the Pediatric Surgery Division.
• Lead all administrative, clinical, and outreach efforts related to obtaining and maintaining Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center verification by the American College of Surgeons (ACS).
• Serve as the Pediatric Trauma Medical Director upon successful ACS verification of Kings County Hospital as a Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center.

• Board Certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery.
• Board Certification or Eligibility inPediatric Surgery.
• Active and Unrestricted New York State Physician License.
• Active DEA registration.
• Active ACLS, ATLS, and PALS certifications, or eligibilityto obtain prior to start date.

Wages and Benefitsinclude:

Annual Base Salary: $450,000* based on 40-hour work week.

The annual total value of compensation package is estimated at $485,000**, which includes the baseline salary and 401(k) contribution.
