Description

Skyworks Solutions seeks a highly self-motivated Student Intern to join in the development of Skyworks' BAW technologies. This Co-op position offers hands on experience in modeling work and will include experience with development, automation and integration of BAW models for the latest technology. You will work closely with international and multidisciplinary engineer teams across multiple locations and time zones.

Co-Op period: January 2026 to May/June 2026

Location: Irvine, CA

Responsibilities

  • Focus on BAW technology research and development for next generation products
  • Perform and analyze theoretical equation as well as physical experiment data
  • Construct physics-based device model in collaboration with other device modeling engineers
  • Integrate the model extraction flow from data collection to model implementation in PDK
  • Explore the next generation model to advance simulation capabilities and generate intellectual property

Required Experience and Skills

  • Currently enrolled graduate student (MS or PHD) in engineering, physics, or related field
  • Must be able to work onsite for duration of Co-op term (January - May/June 2026)
  • Basic understanding in either semiconductors and/or acoustic devices
  • Basic understanding of RF circuits
  • Proficiency in programming language such as python, C and MATLAB
  • Strong problem-solving skills, both technical and interpersonal

Desired Experience and Skills

  • Data scraping and analysis by Python
  • Machine learning and numerical modeling/optimization
  • Developing in-house simulator for circuit analysis
  • Developing ADS user compile model by using C code
  • FEM simulation skills utilizing COMSOL or similar tool

The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
