THIS JOB DESCRIPTION DOES NOT ATTEMPT TO LIST ALL OF THE DUTIES THAT ARE OR MAY BE PERFORMED IN THIS POSITION This position works in the Flowood HQ office. The preferred candidate must live within 30 miles/minutes of the Flowood HQ office. Plans, organizes, coordinates, and supervises daily operational activities related to Leak survey/leak repair/leakage control programs, Regulation and measurement compliance, Safety, Cathodic protection design and compliance, and Regulatory compliance inspection and/or audits. Primary Duties
- Schedules, coordinates, and oversees assigned capital and human resources to accomplish customer service needs.
- Provides leadership to assure compliance with Department of Transportation 192 standards, the O&M Manual, and the Atmos Measurement Procedures Manual to ensure public safety.
- Provides technical review of projects and conducts quality control audits of compliance and MIC work performed to ensure system integrity, regulatory compliance, and employee and customer safety.
- Initiates and supervises the functions required to install, operate, test, calibrate, and maintain measurement facilities and associated control systems and instrumentation components. Performs work per the Company, regulatory, and safety requirements.
- Schedules, monitors, and conducts quality control audits of work performed by assigned employees to ensure system integrity, regulatory compliance, and customer safety. Works closely with engineering to identify system improvements, upgrades, and field functions required to maintain system integrity.
- Supervises leakage surveys, cathodic protection inspections, patrolling, flow control valve inspections, and odorization tests on natural gas systems/facilities.
- Responds to customer inquiries and complaints involving areas of responsibility to ensure a high level of customer service and satisfaction is maintained. Coordinates activities with regard to emergencies, outages, and pressure problems.
- Establishes schedules necessary to achieve completion of mandated annual surveys and procedures, and completes various reports.
- Implements policies, procedures, and standards to ensure proper administration of activities. Makes recommendations for revisions to or development of policies, procedures, and standards.
- Promotes a positive company image by participating in local civic and professional organizations. May represent the Company to regulatory authorities, public officials, customers, and the general public involving company matters.
- Develops and monitors functional area budgets to ensure efficient utilization of resources.
- Plans and directs the achievement of area goals and objectives within established company policies.
- Maintains adequate staffing levels to ensure proper administration of activities. Selects, develops, trains, motivates, and evaluates the performance of assigned employees.
- Performs other related duties as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE LEVEL:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field and three years of progressively responsible experience in the natural gas utility industry; or
- A general educational knowledge typically acquired through a high school diploma or a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and five years of progressively responsible experience in the natural gas utility industry.
- Valid driver's license.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
- Requires the ability to provide explanations of technical or other complex matters to people with little or no background in the area under discussion.
NUMERIC SKILLS:
- Requires the ability to perform analyses involving ratios, percentages, and simple statistical methods, and/or make calculations to reconcile financial statements and accounts.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Requires basic computer skills to create standardized documents, reports, or graphics using various software.
WORK CONDITIONS:
- Works in an outdoor environment. Requires occasionally performing activities including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning, and/or lifting.
