We have an opening for an Analytics Engineer.

The Analytics Engineer is responsible for developing, administering and enhancing the firm's business intelligence platforms with a primary focus on Power BI. This role will lead efforts to design and maintain intuitive dashboards, compelling visualizations and actionable insights for business and legal stakeholders. Additionally, the role will support the strategic migration of Tableau and Alteryx workflows to Power BI while maintaining coexistence for a transitional period.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in data visualization, BI platform administration, dashboard performance optimization and experience driving user adoption through self-service models and enablement.

In this capacity, the Analytics Engineer will:

  • Lead the development and enhancement of dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Power BI to support firmwide reporting needs;
  • Administer the Power BI platform, including workspace configuration, access controls, usage monitoring, capacity planning and platform governance;
  • Partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable and insightful visual solutions that inform decision-making;
  • Support the migration of existing Tableau dashboards and Alteryx workflows to Power BI, developing equivalent models and data pipelines where needed;
  • Maintain and optimize legacy Tableau and Alteryx solutions during the transition period, supporting sunset planning and change management;
  • Champion data visualization best practices, including user-centered design, accessible layout, performance tuning, and drill-through analysis;
  • Provide training, documentation, and support for end users and analysts adopting Power BI for self-service reporting;
  • Collaborate with data engineering and data governance teams to ensure data quality, availability, and alignment with standards;
  • Interact with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand their data visualization and business intelligence needs; and
  • Stay current with advancements in Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and embedded analytics features, and evaluate how new capabilities can be leveraged to improve efficiency and insights.

Proficiencies:

  • Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query (M), Row-Level Security and shared datasets;
  • Strong experience with data modeling, data visualization, and performance optimization in large-scale environments;
  • Experience with Tableau and Alteryx, including development and migration strategies;
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps), and integration with tools such as Azure Synapse or SQL Server;
  • Proficiency in SQL and working with relational databases and data lakes;
  • Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and user access policies for BI tools;
  • Understanding of user enablement and adoption strategies for self-service analytics in an enterprise environment; and
  • Translate business needs to technical specifications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Analytics, or a related field;
  • 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics engineering, or data visualization roles;
  • Demonstrated expertise with Power BI, including administration and advanced report/dashboard design;
  • Proven experience supporting migrations from Tableau and Alteryx to Power BI;
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills;
  • Ability to work independently and lead initiatives that bridge technical execution with business value; and
  • Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude.

The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. This role is exempt meaning it is not overtime pay eligible.
