Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Painter Helper to assist in the preparation and painting of various components, sub-assemblies, and finished products. The ideal candidate will support the painting process, ensuring all tasks meet the high-quality standards set by PCX.

A Day In The Life

  • Assist in preparing materials for painting, including sandblasting, grinding, and buffing using appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Help in the safe operation of overhead cranes and forklifts to maneuver materials in and out of the paint booth.
  • Support the operation, cleaning, and maintenance of paint equipment and the paint booth.
  • Assist in mixing and applying paint and related coatings to steel equipment under supervision.
  • Help maintain accurate production records, tracking the usage of paint and solvents.
  • Assist in the proper disposal of hazardous waste in compliance with safety and EPA regulations.
  • Collaborate with the production team to ensure efficient workflow and minimize downtime related to painting processes.

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is a plus.
  • Familiarity with the use of PPE such as respirators.
  • Basic understanding of MIL-Spec paint standards and application techniques.
  • Ability to follow instructions and support time management in production schedules.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to workplace safety.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge of spray equipment maintenance and repair is advantageous.
