About the Opportunity:

We are looking for a Development Engineer to join us as a key member of our highly technical research and development team.The focus of this job centers around producing timely results that are high quality and accurate. Development Engineer (DE) to provide advanced level mechanical-electrical design and to drive the development of new products for X-Ray Technologies. The DE will engage with design teams, while demonstrating innovation; will conduct engineering tests, design of experiments, validation and verification, statistical analysis, risk assessment; and will develop networks with key suppliers for prototype and Production release of products.

This position is based full-time on site at the X-Ray Technology office in Scotts, Valley, CA.



Key Responsibilities



Provide mechanical-electrical design and development of new products for X-ray technologies.



Drive and maintain Engineering elements of Document Control such as change notifications, CAD modelling, PCB layout, circuit schematics, drawings, BOMs, assembly and product trees.



Participate in design teams, demonstrate innovation.



Embrace Product Life Cycle excellence by utilizing Stage Gate Process for product development, Sustaining engineering, and Obsolescence.



Drive NPD project process success by utilizing pillars for ROI, VOC, and Reliability.



Utilize numerical methods to model particle behavior, heat transfer and electrostatics in x-ray tube systems.



Steward intellectual property. Keep informed of prior, current state of art, and newer or proposed technologies that can be leveraged for our product development.




Person Specification - Essential requirements unless stated

Education / Qualifications:


  • Undergraduate degree in physical science or engineering degree.
  • Industrial workplace experience.
  • Aspiration for engineering design cutting edge technologies.
  • Participation in academic or industrial research and development.
  • Knowledge of software for data acquisition and analysis



Physical Skills/ Abilities:


  • Engineering tools - Python; MCAD (SolidWorks preferred), ECAD (Altium preferred), PSPICE, MATLAB, LabVIEW, Labwindows
  • Hands on ability to drive development activity from prototype to released products and processes including hardware and software.


Salary:In accordance with California law, the expected salary for this position is between

$80,000 - $90,000. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
