This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite at La Jolla and remote. Established in 1978 at the UC San Diego Medical Center, the Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM) combines the benefits of an internationally renowned university with a large academic hospital. The UC San Diego Medical Center and the DEM is leading an effort, funded by the Federal Office of the National Coordinator, to foster data exchange, interoperability, and clinical integration to improve healthcare efficiency and patient outcomes among San Diego County community healthcare providers. Under general supervision, the Research Fund Manager works in research administration to independently manage research awards and transactions related to contract and grant management, and maintain contract and grant records in compliance with institutional research sponsor policies. Additionally, the incumbent performs full award administration, and analytical and strategic reporting for a multi-PI proposal portfolio. This position requires exceptional customer service skills. Assignments include multiple PIs, department recharge centers, multiple funding sources, multiple institutions, and multiple sites. Manages research awards of diverse scope where analysis of data requires thorough understanding of complex regulations and requirements. Completes and approves transactions for signature by manager or other authorized institutional official. Comprehensive post award management includes using strong analytical skills for allocation and expense monitoring, understanding of agency-specific requirements, detailed and timely reporting, and advisement to faculty. All post award transactions will be supported by this position. At least 75% of the Fund Management responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: * Multi-project grants of complex contracts* Classified agencies (example: Department of Defense)* Significant volume of sub-awards (example: 25 in a project)* Significant recharges based on billing activities* Training grants* Clinical Trials* International desk Additionally, the fund manger will be required to manage, analyze and report on a multitude of non-research funds including gifts and endowments, faculty discretionary funds, startup support, and other faculty-controlled funds. Performs other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $71,600 - $127,400 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $34.29 - $61.02 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
