Primary Purpose

The Copywriter is a strategic and creative role on the creative team, with a focus on email marketing, social, and brand copywriting that brings the Bright Horizons story to life. This role is central to how we communicate across our three core business areas:

  • Early Education & Preschool: Showcasing the value of our nurturing, discovery-driven learning environments.
  • Employee Education & Care Benefits: Highlighting how we support working families through back-up care, elder care, and education benefits.
  • Employer Solutions: Demonstrating how we help organizations attract, retain, and support top talent through customized benefit offerings.

This role is responsible for writing compelling, brand-aligned copy that drives engagement, builds trust, and supports both B2C and B2B marketing goals, and collaborate with designers and video team.

This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week onsite at our headquarters in Newton, MA.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Craft persuasive, personalized copy for lifecycle, promotional, and nurture email campaigns across all business lines.
  • Develop B2B email content that speaks to HR leaders, benefits managers, and C-suite decisionmakers.
  • Collaborate with CRM, design, and performance teams to optimize messaging for engagement and conversion.
  • Use A/B testing and performance data to continuously refine tone, structure, and calls to action.
  • Write engaging, platform-appropriate copy for organic and paid social campaigns across LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X, and emerging platforms.
  • Support storytelling that highlights family success stories, employer partnerships, and thought leadership.
  • Create storytelling that lives in video and static, alike.
  • Tailor B2B messaging for LinkedIn and other professional platforms to elevate our employer brand and thought leadership.
  • Partner with social strategists and designers to ensure copy and visuals work in harmony.
  • Translate Bright Horizons' complex service offerings into clear, compelling messaging for employer audiences.
  • Write copy for B2B campaigns, including email sequences, landing pages, digital ads, and sales enablement materials.
  • Collaborate with product marketing and sales teams to align messaging with business goals and audience needs.
  • Support content that positions Bright Horizons as a strategic partner in talent retention, DEI, and workforce well-being.
  • Maintain and evolve the Bright Horizons voice across all touchpoints-warm, trustworthy, and empowering.
  • Ensure consistency and clarity in messaging across channels and audiences.
  • Contribute to integrated campaigns that span email, social, web, and print.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field.
  • 2-5 Years experience in copywriting, marketing, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong understanding of email marketing principles and best practices.
  • Basic knowledge of SEO and digital marketing.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using email marketing platforms (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Mailchimp, Constant Contact) is a plus.
  • Experience with CMS platforms like Salesforce or WordPress to manage and update website content is a plus.
  • A portfolio of writing samples, including email, landing page and website copy, is preferred.
  • Experience with utilizing AI to create workflow efficiencies and optimize copy is a plus.
  • Proven ability to write for both B2C and B2B audiences, ideally in education, benefits, or family services.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates strong storytelling, brand voice alignment, and performance-driven messaging.
  • Demonstrated ability to think visually.
  • Deep understanding of email marketing best practices, including segmentation, personalization, and A/B testing.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and how to tailor messaging for each (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok).
  • Experience writing for professional audiences, including HR, benefits, and corporate leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Strong attention to detail, grammar, and editing skills.
  • Bonus: Experience with tools like Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Sprout Social, HubSpot, or similar platforms.
