Overview

Orange & Rockland is leading the clean energy transition in New York and New Jersey. We are investing millions of dollars annually to provide customers with the tools to better manage their energy use, scale the adoption of energy efficiency and clean heating technologies while targeting customers in disadvantaged communities, and minimizing infrastructure investment with clean energy solutions whenever possible.To support O&R's effort, the Customer Energy Services Department is seeking a highly dedicated professional for its Evaluation Measurement & Verification (EM&V) team. The successful candidate will assist in maintaining proper reporting and operational requirements in the energy efficiency and demand management sector, interacting with different teams within O&R and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.Potential candidates should expect to spend two days per week performing quality control inspections of residential and/or commercial customer premises within the O&R/RECO service territory. As such, the maintenance of annual OSHA certification will be a requirement.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities
  • Assist in the evaluation, measurement, and verification of Orange and Rockland (NY) and Rockland Electrics (NJ) energy efficiency, decarbonization, weatherization and demand response programs.
  • Establish and maintain effective daily communications with Section Manager, Manager and Program Managers to relay evaluation results and analyses to support program implementation and ensure a timely feedback loop.
  • Assist in administering vendor contracts related to EM&V for efficiency and demand response and other demand management related programs or measures.
  • Assist in the support of all ongoing Measurement & Verification (M&V) work and in developing EM&V program specific activities.
  • Reviewing M&V reports created by vendors in support of the energy efficiency and demand response programs.
  • Assist in completing Contractor Field Observation Report (CFOR) and Contractor Evaluation Report (CER) for vendor reporting requirements within the Contractor Oversight System (COS).
  • Assisting in management of various evaluation consultants to ensure deadlines and quality requirements for deliverables are met.
  • Assist in the development of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) in support of, and in conjunction with energy efficiency and demand management related EM&V activities.
  • Prepare presentations/reports for external stakeholders including Department of Public Service Staff and Bureau of Public Utilities in a supporting role.
  • Review and process vendor invoices and accompanying support documentation required to process payments; and will assist in processing other Oracle related transactions including: administration, tracking and analysis of vendor contracts.
  • Assist in preparing and analyzing EM&V expenditures versus budget, and develop the appropriate internal reporting.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in the fields of Architecture, Engineering, Mathematics, Business, Law, or other related technical disciplines and 2 years of relevant work experience or
  • Master's Degree in the fields of Architecture, Engineering, Mathematics, Business, Law, or other related technical disciplines and 2 year of relevant work experience
Relevant Work Experience
  • Strong project management skills and capabilities, required.
  • Must have strong computer skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other related database management (Access) tools, required.
  • Must exhibit a great attention to detail, required.
  • Must demonstrate a high regard for personal accountability and focus on the importance of delivering innovative products and services to our customers in a competitive environment, required.
  • Must be highly motivated and demonstrated an ability to work alone or in a team environment and must be a team oriented individual, required.
  • Must be well organized, detail oriented and flexible in handling multiple assignments, while being able to meet deadlines, required.
  • Must be able to make sound decisions through the use of traditional and creative solutions while measuring the risks and impacts of his/her actions, required.
  • Excellent analytical, oral, written and presentation skills are required, required.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with primary energy consuming building systems, with particular emphasis on Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC+R), preferred.
  • Knowledge of DSM/Energy Efficiency Programs, preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Driver's License Required
  • Other: Professional Licensure in Engineering or Architecture Preferred
  • Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS) CEM, LEED AP, BEMP Preferred
Additional Physical Demands
  • The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to work in the Company service territory and travel to other CECONY/O&R locations, as needed
