Safety Specialist - ENF

Description

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:





    • Ensure compliance with Local, State and Federal safety & health regulations.
    • Ensure that OSHA guidelines are met and all documentation is prepared and stored for the required timeframe.
    • Provide ongoing support, leadership and guidance to facility personnel to achieve and maintain Star status under OSHA's Voluntary Protection Program.
    • Develops, implement and maintain Safety & Health Policies, Plans, and Procedures
    • Conduct new employee safety orientation training.
    • Provide periodic/annual training courses regarding specific safety issues relevant to the work environment.
    • Prepare and present safety topics and metrics during weekly department meetings.
    • Provide ongoing support to facility personnel and leadership in the identification of workplace hazards, reporting and investigation of incidents, and the continued development of our Safety programs.
    • Works with department supervision to conduct incident investigations in a thorough and timely manner to determine root cause and prevention.
    • Conducts frequent plant safety inspections and observes workers for safe and unsafe behaviors.
    • Develop, maintain and report on key safety performance indicators.
    • Schedule and coordinate required monitoring and sampling pursuant to Facility Industrial Hygiene/Environmental factors (air quality, noise, etc.)
    • Assist in the management and administration of worker's compensation claims to include team members, physicians, hospitals, and third party administrators.
    • Assist the Safety and Plant Security Officer in their Facility Security Officer functions regarding physical plant security.
    • Complete Internal audits as a QMS trained internal auditor.
    • Maintains OSHA 300 Log in accordance with the standard.
    • Abide by all policies and procedures established by the Company including plant safety regulations and work rules.



    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



    • B.S. Degree in a Safety Related Field
    • 5 years of experience in an industrial/heaving manufacturing environment
    • Good verbal & written communication skills with the ability to work both independently and as a team member
    • Detail oriented with the ability to organize and prioritize work load
    • Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office and exposure to Syteline
