Traffic Rate Analyst

Daikin Applied is seeking a Traffic Rate Analyst who will analyze and carriers to consolidate, save money, and reduce risk of damages. They will review and process claims for inbound and some outbound freight, work OS&D with all carriers, communicating and reporting findings. Location: In office, Staunton, VA.

What you will do:

• Analyze carrier cost to audit and record performance
• Consolidate freight, working with customer service, receiving, purchasing, and shipping to ensure all loads are considered for possible truck load consolidation
• Check weight and volume against cost for LTL versus TL to make sure products are shipped in the most cost-effective way possible
• Log carrier issues and internal issues, working with carriers to lower cost of transfer of goods and work on ideas to minimize the inefficiency of overage, shortage, and damage
• Work on spreadsheets to track progress, distribution, and customer assistance
• Manipulate spreadsheets and work to find all picks or orders past due and get them out the door to work towards on time shipping goals
• Work on a variety of issues that come up with freight loads, special equipment, unusual requirements, and cost effectiveness
• Complete monthly cost analysis work to review the contracted costs and audit carriers
• Review performance of all carriers and complete internal research to discover billing issues
• Work with customers, sales representatives, and internal employees to help with issues on loads, carriers, or business processes

Qualifications:

• Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 4+ years' experience in logistics, warehouse, or related field

• The typical salary for this position ranges from $23.65-$36.59 in Virginia. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
