Overview

The Executive Director, HEOR is a critical Global Medical Affairs leader whose experience and expertise is key to leading the development and execution of HEOR strategies for Alnylam's portfolio of innovative products. This strategic leader will lead, direct and oversee activities of the HEOR team which interfaces with key stakeholders to develop and execute cross functionally aligned HEOR plans across multiple late stage and pipeline assets. The Executive Director, HEOR will liaise with several key functions to ensure HEOR strategy and tactics are aligned with strategic imperatives, meet regional market access and external stakeholder needs, and inform clinical development plans. The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills, deep understanding and experience of global market needs, and a proven record of successful access for multiple products. The Executive Director, HEOR will have demonstrated success in building, developing and leading high functioning HEOR teams.

This position is hybrid onsite and will be primarily located at 675 West Kendall Street, Cambridge, MA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop and build a high-functioning HEOR team, fostering collaboration and innovation
  • Oversee the development, execution, and communication of global HEOR strategies for Alnylam's portfolio of innovative products
  • Oversee development and execution of high quality HEOR evidence and value communication strategies, including market access tools, to support optimal funding, reimbursement and patient access
  • Partner with key cross functional stakeholders (Market Access, Value Demonstration, Medical Directors, Epidemiology, Clinical Development, Regulatory, etc.) to ensure HEOR strategy is in alignment with, informed by, and informs, pricing and access, evidence generation, clinical development, regulatory, and commercialization strategy
  • Ensure the HEOR team effectively collaborates with Value Demonstration and local country/regional teams to support market access evidence needs, and ensure evidence is appropriately incorporated into key HTA deliverables
  • Oversee development of launch and post-launch deliverables including global value dossiers, access evidence plans, value and evidence strategies, value decks and innovative, customer-facing payer tools
  • Oversee development of CEAs, BIMS, ITCs, meta-analyses and systematic reviews to demonstrate value of Alnylam's products and support access, pricing and reimbursement
  • Partner with DSSE, to conceptualize and facilitate post-hoc analysis of clinical trial data to demonstrate the value of Alnylam products for payer and HTA stakeholders
  • Oversee resources, project plan, budgets, and vendors
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge regarding relevant developments in multiple disease areas and have an in-depth understanding of country-specific evidence needs
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with thought leaders
  • Serve as the internal HEOR expert to the larger Medical Affairs organization and cross-functionally

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (PhD or ScD) in Health Economics from an accredited institution
  • A minimum of ten years of relevant, post-graduate experience in HEOR spanning pipeline and marketed products
  • A minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role with a proven track record of managing teams and complex projects
  • Proven experience with building and leading high-performing global teams
  • A strong track record of supporting successful commercialization and access globally
  • Ability to function with a high level of autonomy and develop productive cross-functional relationships
  • Attention to detail, ability to multi-task and appropriately prioritize activities and manage resources in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work, collaborate, negotiate and lead in a matrixed environment
  • Experience working across multiple therapeutic areas across rare and prevalent diseases
  • A strong publication record in leading health economics and outcomes research journals
