Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. The position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.

We Require

  • One year of experience in employment, training programs, case management, career development activities, reentry services, or equivalent social service programs

  • One year of customer service experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, education, social work, psychology, or a closely related field

  • An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis

  • Two or more years of professional-level experience in Career Services, Education, or Social Services

Job Contributions

  • Assist participants in developing career and education action plans
  • Meet with customers one-on-one or in a group setting to review applications and determine if the customer meets WIOA eligibility requirements
  • Coach participants in resume development, interviewing techniques, and job search activities
  • Assess participants' barriers to employment and arrange available area resources and supportive services, including transportation, education, and emergency assistance, as needed
  • Advise participants regarding secondary education, post-secondary training, and permanent employment opportunities
  • Conduct and interpret academic and work readiness evaluations and assessments
  • Provide intensive, sustained one-on-one support and guidance to a case load of up to 120 during the period of program participation
  • Provide labor market information on in-demand occupations
  • Conduct program orientations, informational seminars, and one-on-one sessions with customers
  • Conduct outreach in various Maricopa County areas to create awareness of the program services
  • Create, update, and maintain accurate participant case notes and files; document participant progress and goals, and all services provided to the client and activities of the participant throughout participation
  • Provide and track referrals to program partners and community-based service providers
  • Assist with job fairs, resource fairs, and other program events

Working Conditions

  • Must complete background check and fingerprint identification upon hire to successfully secure and maintain the Arizona Department of Public Safety Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card

  • Work is routinely performed in an office environment, which may require long periods of sitting, reading, and typing

  • Requires travel to program sites throughout Maricopa County. The position requires travel to and from various county, client, and contractor locations during a scheduled workday, subject to County policies regarding the use of County vehicles and/or private vehicles used on County business
