Part-time Human Resource Management Instructor

Position will report directly to the Dean of Business and General Education and provides instruction for the Human Resource degree program in subjects such as health and safety, employment law, talent management, and staffing. Ability to plan, organize, instruct and facilitate quality education programs, classroom/online course management and student interaction are required. Candidates may be asked to provide instruction at any of our campus locations. Seeking candidates who have availablity to teach daytime and/or evening courses in person that will be offered through MyEdChoice.

Provide instruction for assigned classes.
1. Remain current with industry needs and assure graduate outcomes that meet the workplace expectations.
2. Develop and maintain industry relationships.
3. Engage in ongoing student learning assessment to determine effectiveness of instruction and curriculum.
4. Create a classroom/lab environment that is respectful of diversity and demonstrates a commitment to multiculturalism.
5. Maintain accurate student records and reports as requested by administrative offices.
6. Identify students needing assistance and refer students to Student Services. Collaborate with Student Services and the Academic Support Division staff members to help students adjust to the learning environment.
7. Remain current on developments in the teaching field so that instruction is delivered for a variety of learning styles, uses the latest supportive technology and utilizes alternative delivery methods.
8. Prepare and update course syllabi (using BTC guidelines) for each course taught.
9. Assist in the enforcement of college regulations and report student conduct violations to administration.
10. Hold weekly office hours, and other duties required to meet student, employer, and college needs.
11. Assist Dean in other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related with required experience;
2. 2 years or 4,000 hours of related work experience in a managerial capacity or a professional level position in a Human Resources specialty such as Health & Safety, Labor Relations, Recruiting, Training, Employment Law, or Salary Administration.
3. Current SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) certification or HRCI preferrred but not required

Desired Qualifications:

1. Master's Degree in Business, Human Resource or related area preferred
2. Previous post-secondary teaching experience
3. Experience teaching in an online/hybrid/accelerated course environment and exposure to learning management systems
4. Business and industry training, corporate training, or past instructional experience is desirable.
