*Description* We are seeking an experienced Linux Architect to lead the modernization and expansion of its enterprise Linux environment. This role will support our customer's Industry 4.0 transformation, enabling advanced capabilities in AI/ML, IoT, and smart manufacturing. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong leadership, and a collaborative mindset to drive innovation across infrastructure, edge computing, and automation. Key Responsibilities *Architect and manage Linux environments across Rocky Linux, Ubuntu, and RHEL *Maintain OS lifecycle and patching using Foreman; optimize Foreman usage and stability *Design and implement Linux client/edge solutions for ML/AI workloads, including vision systems and streaming protocols (RabbitMQ, MQTT, AMQP) *Build Linux management capabilities equivalent to Windows (OSD, patching, RBAC, etc.) *Integrate with ServiceNow for CMDB, incident/change workflows, and automation *Support VMware-based virtualization and physical Linux servers in HPCC *Develop and deploy Ansible playbooks for automation and service catalog workflows *Collaborate on Azure IoT Hub and Azure IoT Edge containerization strategies *Implement and manage security tools (Rapid7, Bitwarden, transition to Microsoft Defender) *Integrate observability tools (SolarWinds, Cribl) for monitoring and alerting Infrastructure & Security Focus *Identity integration with Microsoft Active Directory / EntraID *Vulnerability management and OS hardening *Software deployment and configuration management *Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and permissions modeling *Edge device security and compliance Cross-Functional Collaboration *Partner with Data Center Architects, Product Domain Owners, DC Engineers, and Manufacturing Automation Managers *Lead and mentor engineers with limited Linux experience *Build a sustainable support model and documentation framework Required Qualifications *8+ years managing enterprise-scale Linux environments *Expertise in Linux architecture, automation, and edge computing *Strong scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python, Perl, or similar) *Experience with Ansible, Foreman, and ServiceNow *Familiarity with IIoT, AI/ML, and streaming protocols *Excellent documentation and training capabilities *Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive strategic initiatives *Additional Skills & Qualifications* Preferred Qualifications *Experience with Azure IoT Edge and container orchestration *Familiarity with PLM systems, fleet management, and manufacturing IT *Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO/IEC 27001) *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $95.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
