Job Description

Receives, stores, and issues equipment, material, supplies, merchandise, or tools, and compiles stock records in stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard.

Pay Rate between $20.00 and $26.00

Shift: 2nd shift

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Count, sort, or weigh incoming items to verify receipt against requisitions or invoices.
  • Examine stock to ensure it meets specified standards and requirements.
  • Store items in bins, on shelves, or on the floor according to identifying details such as style, size, or material type.
  • Fill orders or issue supplies from stock based on requests.
  • Prepare regular, special, or ongoing inventory reports.
  • Request stock items needed to fulfill incoming orders.
  • Compile reports related to stock handling equipment usage, inventory adjustments, stock records, spoilage or damage, location changes, and refused shipments.
  • Mark items with identifying codes, figures, or letters.
  • Distribute materials to production workers and maintain records of issued stock.
  • Perform minor adjustments or repairs to stock items as needed.
  • Determine appropriate storage methods, identification systems, and stock locations, taking into account factors such as temperature, humidity, weight and height limitations, turnover rate, floor load capacity, and available space.
  • Cut stock to appropriate size to fulfill orders.
  • Transport materials or supplies to other departments as required.
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts and stock records.
  • Safely operate a forklift to move parts or materials around the site.
Qualifications

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Computer skills. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to pass forklift training and operate the equipment safely.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operational instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and communicate clearly with coworkers and supervisors.
  • Ability to effectively speak before small groups of employees or leadership.
  • Ability to also speak Spanish preferred but not required.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to calculate figures such as area, volume, proportions, and percentages.
  • Understanding basic algebra and geometry principles is preferred.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to apply common sense and judgment to follow written or verbal instructions.
  • Ability to solve practical problems involving multiple variables in a standardized setting.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to fingers, reach, talk and hear. The Employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, Kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and /or move up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift and/ or move up to 50lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and extreme heat. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid condition. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and vibrations. The noise level in the environment
