The NW Infrastructure and Strategy team leads portfolio decision-making for new networking-related investments. The Finance Director Network Infrastructure Strategy is pivotal in shaping long-term capital strategy, influencing cross-functional decision-making, and enabling scalable infrastructure growth aligned with Microsoft Cloud's ambitions. You will partner closely with engineering, operations, and strategy teams to lead financial planning, investment prioritization, and performance management for networking infrastructure, including hardware, fiber, geo expansion, and strategic sourcing.
ResponsibilitiesOwn and evolve the long-range capital strategy for networking infrastructure, including dark fiber and geo expansion. Lead financial frameworks that guide lease vs. own decisions and optimize capital deployment.Deliver high-impact financial insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders. Evaluate ROI, NPV, and lifecycle economics for major sourcing and infrastructure deals.Partner with engineering, supply chain, and data center operations to align financial planning with technical and operational priorities, while proactively identifying and executing cost efficiency opportunities across the networking infrastructure portfolio through spend analysis, strategic sourcing, and scalable investment strategies.Lead forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis for network investments. Monitor trends and proactively identify risks and opportunities to ensure financial targets are met.Integrate external market data and competitive intelligence to inform investment strategy and calibrate internal expectations. Synthesize diverse data sources into clear executive summaries for leadership decisions.Mentor finance team members and foster a culture of analytical rigor, strategic thinking, and business partnership. |
