DSV Job Title: Supervisor, Warehouse

FLSA Status: Exempt

Direct Line Reporting: Manager

Summary

The Warehouse Supervisor will oversee daily operations of a warehouse, ensuring that processes and procedures are followed to maintain efficient and effective operations. They will be responsible for managing warehouse staff, tracking inventory levels, ensuring accuracy of shipments, and maintaining a safe work environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Supervise and train warehouse staff, ensuring that they follow proper procedures and protocols.

Oversee incoming and outgoing shipments, including verifying accuracy of orders and coordinating with shipping carriers.

Maintain accurate inventory levels and ensure proper storage and handling of all products.

Monitor the quality of products and ensure that they meet customer specifications.

Implement and maintain safety policies and procedures, including regular safety inspections and training for all warehouse staff.

Manage the maintenance and repair of warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks.

Maintain records of all warehouse activities, such as inventory levels, shipments, and safety inspections.

Communicate with other departments within the company to ensure that all customer orders are fulfilled in a timely and accurate manner.

Educational background / Work experience

A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position.

At least 2-3 years of experience in a warehouse or logistics management role is required for this position.

Skills & Competencies

Strong leadership and management skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively

Familiarity with warehouse management systems and software

Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to warehouse operations

Ability to lift and move heavy objects

Function / Market & Industry Knowledge / Business Acumen / Processes

Supervisory Responsibilities (if any)

This position will supervise and train warehouse staff.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in logistics, business administration, or a related field

Experience with Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies

Certification in warehouse management or logistics, such as through the International Warehouse Logistics Association (IWLA) or the American Society of Transportation and Logistics (ASTL)

Language skills

Fluent in English (oral and written)

Computer Literacy

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with warehouse management software is required.

For this position, the expected base pay is: $62,500 - $84,500 / Annual. Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, geographical location, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
