Position Summary

NSD Instructors provide tactical instruction on topics of required pre-requisite training/vetting to National Security Division (NSD) candidates prior to deployment for international assignment. This includes: (1) teaching various subjects/SOPs/TTPs, such as pistol/rifle tactical development, close quarters battle, fire and movement, small unit tactics, use and safe operation of heavy weapons, etc.; (2) developing and revising courses, points of instruction and courses of fire; and (3) assessing candidates to measure progress and evaluate effectiveness and aptitude to make suitability assessment for OCONUS deployment.



RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Provides instruction for Firearms and Tactics courses utilizing prescribed curriculum/SOPs/TTPs for pistols, rifles, machine guns, hand-held grenade launchers, CQB, etc., maintains professional certification(s) and qualification standards.
  • Evaluates the abilities of individual candidates to determine suitability for deployment to high threat environments
  • Assistant Instructor for all Core Curriculum Modules and all Specialized Skill Courses


    • May be Lead Instructor as designated by Senior Lead Instructor(s)


  • Maintains overall safety and organization of the training environment. Ensures the safety of candidates. Communicates and oversees compliance with company policy, procedures, and safety guidelines
  • Ensures accountability for all training equipment and ensures maintenance is done to standard
  • Communicates with Senior Lead Instructor(s) and ensures compliance with all company policy, procedures, and safety guidelines
  • Represents NSD & Constellis professionally and deals effectively with candidates, peers, and USG personnel
  • Updates course curriculum as directed by Senior Lead Instructor(s)
  • Maintain and complete any additional training and/or certifications required by the contract
  • Must be willing to operate Company vehicle
  • Other duties as assigned



QUALIFICATIONS



  • Current Secret Clearance required, with eligibility for Top Secret


    • Must be able to continually pass background investigation, drug screening and have no legal disqualifiers to possess firearms


  • Local candidates preferred
  • Minimum five years military experience in a combat arms MOS with honorable discharge, with one year of deployment experience in a high threat/hazardous duty environment; Experience and background may have been gained in the U.S. Military or Special Operations Forces
  • Minimum of one year of tactical instructional experience required, two years preferred
  • Must have a valid Driver's License and a clear driving record for the last three years
  • Recent NSD program experience preferred
  • Knowledge of nomenclature, function, and manipulation of weapons utilized by NSD and employment of weapons systems
  • Knowledge of Live Fire Range operations, policies, and procedures
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities to completion.
  • Problem solving skills with an analytical thought process.
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.



WORKING CONDITIONS



Work is typically on an outdoor range under various weather conditions, instructors will be required to climb stairs, carry equipment, work varying hours and under tight time constraints. Although business hours are usually 8:00 am to 5:00pm, there may be night and or weekend hours as required.



May be required to lift, carry or manipulate awkward items weighing up to 185 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending sometimes on uneven/unstable mediums. Requires constant use of hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus
