PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $34.18-$41.78 hourly. The full Pay Range is $26.59-$49.38 hourly. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. BENEFITS

Employees and their eligible family members have access to a wide array of employee benefits, such as medical, dental, vision and life insurance coverage. Employees have access to disability and AD&D insurance. We also offer health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, as well as health savings accounts, to eligible employees. Employees are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan and employer-funded retirement plan. Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. To join our dynamic team, we require candidates to be residents of WA, OR, ID, AZ, TX, GA, or SC. If you're located in Washington state and within a reasonable driving distance from Tukwila, we are requesting that you come into our HQ on Tuesdays & Wednesdays.For those candidates that live outside the commute distance of TFC and in any of our approved remote work locations, this role will be remote. Remote or onsite, we are committed to ensuring you are fully engaged and included in our collaborative environment.

IMPACT YOU'LL MAKE

As a Financial Accountant I, you'll play a key role in ensuring BECU's financial records are accurate, compliant, and ready to support big-picture decision-making. You'll dig into the details of transactions, collaborate with teams across the credit union, and help keep our balance sheets and reports precise. Your work will not only keep our books balanced - it will help keep our members' trust strong. Every reconciliation, journal entry, and report you prepare is part of delivering financial clarity for the cooperative we all own.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Reconcile and Resolve: Monitor and reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts, researching and resolving discrepancies and out-of-balance situations quickly and accurately.

  • Collaborate and Communicate: Partner with credit union employees to ensure timely and accurate recording of transactions, asking questions and seeking guidance when needed.

  • Journal Entry Excellence: Prepare daily and month-end journal entries with complete supporting documentation, keeping our general ledger clean and up to date.

  • Close with Confidence: Participate in month-end and year-end close processes, performing analytical reviews and providing clear commentary on trends and variances.

  • Audit-Ready Support: Prepare schedules and reports for year-end audits and regulatory requests, meeting all compliance guidelines.

  • Know the Numbers: Build and maintain strong knowledge of credit union processes, systems, and tools to ensure accurate financial data and insights.

  • Champion Improvements: Identify process improvements with your team, helping to enhance efficiency, data accuracy, and internal controls.

  • Document for Success: Maintain clear, up-to-date written procedures for your responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting, accounts payable, or related work with regular reconciliation and proven ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple priorities.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced degree preferred.

  • Advanced working knowledge of marketing data sources including Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Google Analytics/Big Query, Fiserv and Alteryx preferred.
