Requisition Id15202 Overview: We are seeking a Quality Representative (QR) who will focus on implementing Quality program requirements in support of Research and Development (R&D) within the Enrichment Science and Engineering Division (ESED). This position resides in the Isotope Enrichment & Facilities Group within the Quality Assurance Division (QAD), Environment, Safety, Health, and Quality (ESH&Q) Directorate atOak Ridge National Laboratory(ORNL) and is matrixed to the Systems & Process Assurance (SPA) to support the Plasma Enrichment Science and Engineering (PESE) Section within ESED. We are the nation's steward for research, development, and demonstration of enrichment technologies. ORNL is a recognized leader in centrifuge and electromagnetic enrichment technology. We are the stewards and dispensaries of the nation's stable isotope inventory and have a legacy dating to the late 1940s. This division integrates the full enrichment process from chemical synthesis of feed materials through fabrication of the custom physical forms needed to support the user communities. This position will have the opportunity to engage in all aspects of the enrichment enterprise, including: supporting applied research, continuous improvement of existing equipment and processes, and supporting development of prototyping cutting-edge equipment for isotope enrichment. The candidate will work closely with a focused group of scientists, technicians, and engineers on challenging, application driven projects in support of the DOE Isotope Program and other DOE mission areas. This has been a quickly expanding program at ORNL and offers significant opportunities for professional growth. The team demonstrates a collective excitement for the important work being accomplished and values creative solutions to developing technology and processes to solve the latest challenges. Success requires an acute attention to detail and continued consideration of personnel and equipment safety. The QR works with customers and other quality professionals to develop quality philosophy, tools and techniques, quality management systems, business/process improvements, strategic planning and performance metrics, and other quality-related initiatives to support Laboratory operations. The QR will support the development and implementation of quality requirements supporting the ORNL Isotope Program including IS0-9001 and the U.S Department of Energy (DOE) quality requirements. This position will provide general support at the program-level and routine support at the group-level for stable isotope operations. Ideal candidates will have in-depth experience of how to apply and implement Quality Program requirements in a Research and Development environment. Knowledge and experience of educating the workforce on the application of a graded approach to quality is essential. Major Duties/Responsibilities:
