The Quality Plant Chemist ADP is designed as a 9-12-month assignment to assist the site Quality Control and Assurance Managers with day-to-day tasks and special projects. Program participants manage their own projects to assist the team in achieving goals. The Quality Plant Chemist ADP is "hosted" by the Global Supply Chain Organizational Development Department and participants are matched with one of our manufacturing/distribution facilities. This role is intended to start in either January 2026 or June 2026.

Position Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the Quality Manager with assigned tasks and work on continuous improvement projects that will allow them to learn about the many different areas within the Quality function including:

  • Becoming familiar with all Quality systems, tools, processes, metrics, and standards
  • Identify process and formula changes needed for successful manufacturing of existing formulas.
  • Completing the 3 Training Programs
    • Microbial Control Program
    • Institutional Test Methods
    • Minitab & Basic Statistics training
  • Becoming familiar with the New Product Launch/Pipeline Process including:
    • Ship to Hold Audit
    • Test Batches
    • Institutional Calibration Methods
    • Calibration database.
  • Perform routine paint and raw material testing as needed.
  • Learn to use Six Sigma methodologies to determine key areas of improvements in production

Formal Education

Required:

  • Have a bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math ("STEM") field by the start of this development program (January or June 2026)
  • Be willing to relocate for the position AND upon completion of the program
  • Be open to relocating Post Program for targeted roles
  • Have a minimum overall GPA of 2.8
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future

Preferred:

  • Have a bachelor's degree in Engineering or Chemistry

Knowledge & Experience:

Required:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and Power Point

Preferred:

  • Quality or R&D Lab work experience
  • Previous Internship/Co-op experience within Sherwin-Williams
  • Previous Internship, Co-op, or work experience in a related field
  • Leadership experience as demonstrated by your involvement in extracurricular activities on campus or in the community
