Position Location: This position is located in Los Alamos, New Mexico. Los Alamos is a tight-knit mountain community that consistently ranks as one of Livability.com's Best Small Towns in America. The city is a top spot for outdoor enthusiasts as it has more than 120 hiking and biking trails, and residents enjoy easy access to the Pajarito Mountain Ski Area. Position Summary: The Maintenance Planner develops work packages for Corrective and Preventive Maintenance in accordance with Integrated Safety Management System principles. The Planner will interface with all stakeholders and ensure that appropriate Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) participate in the planning process. The planning process includes the following: Define the Scope of Work, identify the hazards by performing a Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), incorporate required controls into the work instructions, and route the work package to appropriate SMEs for approval. In addition, the planner will be responsible for documenting special tools, equipment and materials required for the safe execution of the work package and will assist in the Work Request screening process. This position reports to the N3B Integrated Work Control Program Manager. Essential Duties/Responsibilities (may include, but are not limited to):
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities): Knowledge of and experience with facility maintenance planning including systems engineering design and maintenance, safety/authorization basis, configuration management programs, work control, facility control systems, major construction projects, and upgrades and renovations.
Education and Experience Required: Level 2: Bachelors' degree in appropriate discipline combined with 3 years relevant experience. However, a combination of education and relevant experience wherein the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the position's duties and responsibilities have been adequately demonstrated is acceptable. Level 3: Bachelors' degree in appropriate discipline combined with 6 years relevant experience. However, a combination of education and relevant experience wherein the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the position's duties and responsibilities have been adequately demonstrated is acceptable. Working Conditions and Physical Requirements: Light Work Category - Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for sedentary work. The employee exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
