For more information, visit the link below: www.tbijobs.com Qualifications Education and Experience: Education equivalent to graduation from a standard high school and experience equivalent to five years of automotive maintenance, automotive parts procurement, automotive inventory control, financial and/or procurement fleet operations work or any clerical/administrative. Substitution of Education for Experience: Coursework from an accredited college or university in business, public administration, automotive repair, or related field may be substituted for the required experience, on a year-for-year basis, to a maximum of three years. Substitution of Experience for Education: Automotive, clerical/administrative, financial and/or procurement fleet operations experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis to a maximum of four years. Necessary Special Qualifications: None Examination Method: Education and Experience, 100%, for Preferred Service positions. Overview Under general supervision, is responsible for supervisory fleet utilization work of routine difficulty; and performs related work as required. This is the lead class in the Fleet Maintenance Assistant sub-series. An employee in this class is responsible for more complex fleet operations work. This class differs from that of Fleet Maintenance Assistant 1 in that an incumbent of the latter does not serve as a lead worker. Responsibilities
- Assesses repair estimates, evaluates cost-effectiveness between repair and replacement, and ensures accuracy and completeness of documentation to authorize work based on compliance with contractual and operational standards.
- Reviews invoices, acquisition requests, and repair estimates to confirm alignment with established regulations, pricing agreements, and procedural standards, ensuring legal and financial accountability.
- Obtains and interprets vehicle, repair, and compliance-related data from various internal and external sources, and clearly communicates relevant policies, procedures, and contract terms to stakeholders.
- Fosters respectful and productive relationships with internal teams, vendors, and agency personnel to support coordinated efforts, conflict resolution, and high customer satisfaction.
- Tracks expenditures, repair trends, and service requests to identify discrepancies, ensure proper billing practices, and detect patterns that may affect vehicle safety, efficiency, or budgeting.
- Drafts correspondence, responds to inquiries, and maintains records using Microsoft Office tools and internal systems to support daily operations, reporting, and document management.
- Uses fleet maintenance systems, databases, and internet research tools to manage service requests, resolve discrepancies, and access critical contract and vehicle information.
- Makes informed decisions by comparing current requests with historical data, identifying root causes of recurring issues, and resolving vendor payment and service concerns efficiently.
