Summary of Job Duties:We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Adult-Gerontology Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team at the UAMS Springdale Schmieding Clinic. The APRN will collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive outpatient care to adolescents, adults, and older adults. This role emphasizes assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, and care coordination for patients with acute and chronic health needs.

This position is in NWA Springdale Schmieding clinic. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Nursing - Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP)
  • Current licensure as an APRN in the state of Arkansas.
  • Two (2) years' RN experience.
  • One (1) year of Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP) experience.
  • Prescriptive authority and DEA license must be obtained after hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in Nursing with certification as an Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner.
  • Two (2) years of Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP) experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in landscaping and groundskeeping techniques.
  • Strong clinical skills in assessing, diagnosing, and managing acute and chronic conditions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient education and team collaboration.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and documentation.
  • Commitment to delivering patient-centered care and promoting health equity.
  • Experience in outpatient or primary care settings.

Additional Information:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Augmentation - The APN will extend the patient care and administrative services of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences physicians.
  • Consummate Professional - The APN will be expected to provide comprehensive health assessments, determine diagnoses, implement treatment plans, prescribe medical treatments, and manage health issues for patients in collaboration with the designated physician(s).
  • Collaborator - The APN will work autonomously, as well as in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage patients' health care problems; and will serve as a health care resource, interdisciplinary consultant, and patient advocate.
  • Coordination - The APRN will also coordinate the multidisciplinary care of patients, facilitating all necessary consults, assuring that care is timely and appropriate.
  • May perform other duties that may be assigned to this position.
