GENERAL PURPOSE
The Director of Machine Maintenance leads a large team of managers, supervisors, and skilled professionals responsible for maintaining and improving machine reliability across the plant. This role owns short- to mid-term operational plans and contributes to strategic initiatives that impact multiple departments. The Director ensures compliance with safety standards, drives continuous
improvement, and collaborates cross-functionally to align maintenance operations with organizational goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Develop and execute operational plans for machine maintenance aligned with plant strategy.

• Lead and mentor managers and supervisors in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical maintenance.

• Influence cross-functional teams and external vendors on maintenance standards and practices.

• Own budget planning and cost control for machine maintenance operations.

• Drive continuous improvement in equipment performance and reliability.

• Solve complex, undefined problems through data analysis and cross-functional collaboration.

• Lead change initiatives and coach teams using Lean and MKPS principles.

• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards (OSHA, etc.).

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or equivalent.

• 10+ years of relevant experience, including leadership of large technical teams.

• Mastery-level knowledge of industrial machinery and maintenance systems.

• Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and influence organizational practices

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Strategic thinking and tactical execution capability within a machine maintenance context.

• Strong business acumen and understanding of value creation in manufacturing operations.

• Advanced problem-solving and decision-making skills grounded in data and system thinking.

• Ability to lead and develop high-performing technical teams.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Experience managing capital programs and maintenance technology investments.
