GENERAL PURPOSE The Director of Machine Maintenance leads a large team of managers, supervisors, and skilled professionals responsible for maintaining and improving machine reliability across the plant. This role owns short- to mid-term operational plans and contributes to strategic initiatives that impact multiple departments. The Director ensures compliance with safety standards, drives continuous improvement, and collaborates cross-functionally to align maintenance operations with organizational goals. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Develop and execute operational plans for machine maintenance aligned with plant strategy. Lead and mentor managers and supervisors in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical maintenance. Influence cross-functional teams and external vendors on maintenance standards and practices. Own budget planning and cost control for machine maintenance operations. Drive continuous improvement in equipment performance and reliability. Solve complex, undefined problems through data analysis and cross-functional collaboration. Lead change initiatives and coach teams using Lean and MKPS principles. Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards (OSHA, etc.).

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or equivalent. 10+ years of relevant experience, including leadership of large technical teams. Mastery-level knowledge of industrial machinery and maintenance systems. Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and influence organizational practices
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Strategic thinking and tactical execution capability within a machine maintenance context. Strong business acumen and understanding of value creation in manufacturing operations. Advanced problem-solving and decision-making skills grounded in data and system thinking. Ability to lead and develop high-performing technical teams. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Experience managing capital programs and maintenance technology investments.
