Position Overview Pep Boys is seeking a detail-oriented, highly organized Draftsman to support the Store Design Team in the development of accurate and consistent architectural drawings, signage plans, and construction documentation. This role is instrumental in the execution of new store layouts, remodels, rebrands, and special projects across our national portfolio. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and modify architectural drawings for new stores, remodels, and capital improvement projects in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Generate floor plans, fixture plans, RCPs, elevations, finish plans, and other supporting documentation per established brand and prototypical standards.
- Create and maintain accurate signage packages, coordinating with external vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Work closely with internal design, construction, real estate, and operations teams to align drawing deliverables with scope and project goals.
- Assist in maintaining and organizing the Pep Boys drawing library, templates, and block libraries.
- Review and incorporate redlines or markups from architects, engineers, and construction managers.
- Support due diligence processes by reviewing site plans, surveys, and as-built documentation.
- Track drawing progress and ensure timely completion of deliverables to meet aggressive project timelines.
- Support special initiatives, including prototype updates, format conversions, and technology rollouts.
Qualifications & Skills
- Associate's degree in Drafting, Architecture, Design Technology, or related field (Bachelor's preferred).
- 2+ years of experience in architectural drafting or technical drawing production. Retail or commercial experience preferred.
- Proficient in AutoCAD (required); Revit experience a plus.
- Familiarity with building codes, ADA standards, and basic construction terminology.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite.
