Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Software Integration Engineer - JMPS. Our team is searching for experienced aircrew members to provide support to the Mission Planning Software Test Team and our Air Force customer. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Master's Degree in a technical field and 10 years of applicable experience. *Additional years of experience may be substituted for education requirements.
  • Must have an active and current DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance.
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of mission planning procedures and techniques.
  • Must have experience in the installation and management of software upgrades to USAF Mission Planning Environments to include Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS).
  • Must be able to travel to required meetings (such as Engineering Design Reviews, Formal Qualification Tests, and other enterprise/program meetings) CONUS and OCONUS.
  • Must be willing to work extended hours including weekends and holidays when required to meet mission requirements.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Experience in System Administration highly desired.
  • Experience in Data Management of USAF systems.
  • Knowledge in USAF Standard Desktop Configurations (SDC) and software upgrade processes.
  • Familiarity with USAF developmental and test processes as they relate to software acquisition and evaluation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for verifying and validating integration issues that arise with Mission Planning Environments before fielding.
  • Reviews install instructions and provide redlines to these instructions for Mission Planning Environments ensuring proper integration needs are met throughout the mission planning environments inception for development, through Dev Eval, Baseline Update Events (BUE) for both Combined Air Forces (CAF), Mobility Air forces (MAF) and Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) prior to the fielding of these MPEs.
  • Coordinates Baseline Update Event (BUE) for software finalization for all TE Mission Planning Environments to include monthly Aeronautical data for system consumption of Mission Planning Systems for the entire Software Engineer team. Sites I provide data from include National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), Sonatype Nexus Repository, Aeronautical Content Exploitation System (ACES 2.0), Mission Planning Central, AFCEDS - Air Force Center for Electronic Distribution of Systems, Confluence, Joint Operations Support Cloud Environment and several others.
  • Integrates and reports all findings of beta software for 45th TGAC Mission Planning Enterprise to include Standard Desktop Configuration (SDC), Enterprise Secure Host Baseline (ESHB) and Mission Planning Hardware Apps.
  • Plans, coordinates, and monitors test projects that frequently require significant modification of standard practices or adaptation of instrumentation to obtain valid results. Plans, monitors and evaluates tests, and assesses the feasibility and soundness of proposed evaluation methods. Makes recommendations and commitments on the conventional aspects of the testing assignments.
  • Provides mission planning expertise in addressing questions/issues of critical importance to the customer and frequently serves as the final authority on software quality.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of the software or class of software being tested, to include experience with the existing software, previous versions, or any associated software used in conjunction with the software being tested. Ability to conduct mission planning using JMPS mission planning software is highly desirable.
  • Maintains testing/test methodology experience, including testing of software/hardware, such as unit, integration, system, or acceptance testing, and familiarity with Air Force directives, CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) and AGILE processes and procedures.
