Medical Secretary - Contingent -Hybrid - Gastro Procedure - Detroit Location: Henry Ford Detroit - 2799 W Grand Blvd, Detroit MI 48202 Position Type: Contingent (Flexible with Class Schedule) Ideal For: Students seeking entry-level experience in healthcare administration Position Summary: This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in healthcare administration. The role offers flexible scheduling to accommodate academic commitments. Under the supervision of departmental leadership, the selected candidate will support clinical operations, contribute to special projects, and apply knowledge of medical procedures and terminology within a hospital, clinic, or lab environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide administrative and operational support to clinical departments Assist with scheduling appointments and maintaining calendars Distribute departmental mail and materials Communicate with patients, staff, and visitors with professionalism and courtesy Support special projects as assigned EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Requires a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. One (1) year of experience within a medical office setting preferred. Literacy and experience working with Microsoft Software Programs required. Previous experience scheduling appointments/maintaining calendars preferred. Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate effectively with callers and visitors, and provide information requiring ordinary courtesy and tact. Ability to distribute departmental mail and other materials. Familiarity with medical terminology.
