Spring Mountain Treatment Center is currently seeking a dynamic professional to join our team as a Assistant Director of Nursing.

The Assistant Director of Nursing is one who demonstrates leadership in organizing the delivery of patient care in an acute psychiatric setting for patients experiencing a wide range of psychiatric conditions.Executes nursing procedures according to policy after demonstrating proficiency. Functions as a therapeutic leader/member in planning and working with patient groups.Serves as a clinical resource person for staff members in their daily activit

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Effectively uses the nursing process to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Effectively assumes shift leadership by keeping members of the team informed of important patient data and of patients physical and/or mental status.

  • Completes nursing assessment based on individual, age specific, developmental needs within 24 hours of admission.

  • Is current with legal aspects around the practice of nursing and uses appropriate resources when legal questions surface.

  • Teaching medication and treatment team

  • working as part of multidisciplinary team
  • Supervises staff in manner that maximizes each staff member's strengths and skills.

  • Is a good role model for peers and those under their supervision.

  • Evaluates the work performance of all assigned staff on an ongoing basis. Reports observations, findings to supervisor.

  • Participates in the performance improvement programs.

  • Prioritizes nursing care resources to ensure patient safety.

  • Remains focused on patient-centered care during crisis situations.

  • Provide administrative support to staff during hospital operations.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

ABOUT SPRING MOUNTAIN TREATMENT CENTER:

Spring Mountain Behavioral Services has provided mental health services to the Las Vegas community since 2001, treating children, teens, adults and senior adults with behavioral health or addiction issues. We offer a supportive and healthy environment with 24-hour care that allows people of all ages to make positive changes in their lives. Our primary location, Spring Mountain Treatment Center, focuses on the stabilization of acute symptoms for patients age 5 to 65, along with select outpatient care programs for teens. Our secondary location, Spring Mountain Sahara, houses our Adult Outpatient and Senior Adult Inpatient programs.

Spring Mountain Treatment Center is a 110-bed mental health facility that provides acute crisis stabilization services for adults, teens, and children in a secure inpatient setting. Our individualized treatment includes a structured, therapeutic environment, intensive physician involvement and oversight, and daily group and educational programs. We provide a caring and healthy environment that gives individuals a chance to make positive changes.

Qualifications

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • BS or Masters in behavioral health preferred, or extensive experience and demonstrated competency required.
  • Current Nevada RN licensure. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Experience in Psychiatric Nursing preferred.
  • Ability to plan and provide individualized nursing care.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluation of situations and/or making nursing decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to maintain effective working relationships, interdepartmentally and with the Medical staff
  • BLS Basic Life Support certification
  • New hires are required to attend 1 full week of New Employee Orientation on day shift, normally 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday through Friday
  • Must successfully pass background check (includes criminal history, Child Abuse and Neglect Registry, and ABI/FBI fingerprint check)
