Job Summary:

VersaTech is seeking an Lead Multi-Media Specialist to support content creation and multimedia production initiatives for high-visibility government clients. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, creative storytelling, and leadership under pressure. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in professional video production, digital content creation, and social media strategy to deliver engaging, mission-driven content across multiple platforms. This role is critical to crafting compelling visual narratives and managing multimedia projects from concept to completion in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.


Salary: $100,000 to $120,000 depending on experience. Discretionary annual bonus based on performance.



Location: Silver Spring, MD - Up to 20% travel with advanced notice.



Note: The estimated start date is contingent upon the successful award of a contract or funding. Employment will commence only after the award is finalized and confirmed.


Responsibilities:


  • Lead the design, production, and delivery of professional video content to support client communications objectives.
  • Operate and manage high-end video production equipment including cameras, lighting, and audio systems.
  • Create visually compelling content through expert use of editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Write, shoot, clip, and edit video packages optimized for both digital and broadcast distribution.
  • Craft engaging stories across a diverse range of topics including news, health, science, and public policy.
  • Collaborate with internal and client teams to secure interviews with high-profile individuals and ensure message alignment.
  • Optimize content for distribution across social media platforms (e.g., X, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram) following platform-specific best practices.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects and prioritize work effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Contribute creative direction and recommendations to elevate the impact of video and multimedia assets.
  • Ensure all deliverables align with brand guidelines, client expectations, and quality standards.
  • Work independently as well as collaboratively within a cross-functional, multidisciplinary team.
  • Maintain professionalism and sound decision-making in high-pressure, time-sensitive situations.
  • After hours support may be required with advanced notice.



Required Qualifications:


  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in video production, digital content creation, and/or social media management.
  • Proven expertise in professional video production tools (cameras, lighting, audio systems).
  • Proficiency with industry-standard editing and design software, including Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop or Illustrator.
  • Deep understanding of social media platforms (X, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram) and optimization best practices.
  • Strong storytelling and editorial judgment across a wide range of subject matter.
  • Ability to secure and conduct interviews with senior or high-profile stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to juggle multiple projects with shifting priorities and strict timelines.
  • Comfortable taking initiative and working independently while also contributing to team efforts.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience supporting government clients or working in public sector communications.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (e.g., Section 508 compliance) for digital content.
  • Motion graphics or animation experience.
  • Certification or formal training in digital media, broadcast journalism, or video production.



Clearance:


  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance
