Job Summary:
VersaTech is seeking a
Multi-Media Specialist to lead and support multimedia production and content development efforts for high-impact government programs. This role blends creative production skills with project management rigor to oversee AV initiatives from pre-production through delivery. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience with video production equipment, digital content workflows, and social media platforms, along with the ability to manage multiple projects under pressure while collaborating effectively with stakeholders and creative teams.
Salary: $90,000 to $110,000 depending on experience. Discretionary annual bonus based on performance.
Location: Silver Spring, MD - Up to 20% travel with advanced notice.
Note: The estimated start date is contingent upon the successful award of a contract or funding. Employment will commence only after the award is finalized and confirmed.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee planning, scheduling, and execution of AV and multimedia projects from concept through final delivery.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for AV content production projects, ensuring alignment with client goals, timelines, and quality standards.
- Coordinate setup and operation of professional video production equipment including cameras, lighting, and audio systems.
- Provide on-site support for filming, events, and interviews as needed, including site preparation and equipment logistics.
- Collaborate with creative, communications, and technical teams to develop engaging digital content for distribution across multiple platforms.
- Apply knowledge of social media trends and content optimization to maximize audient engagement across platforms such as X, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Instagram.
- Monitor and adapt to evolving social media algorithms and digital engagement best practices.
- Assist in crafting compelling stories on a range of topics (e.g., health, policy, science), often under tight timelines.
- Secure and coordinate interviews with high-profile stakeholders as needed.
- Track project milestones, deliverables, and resource allocation, ensuring deadlines and quality benchmarks are met.
- Work both independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams to support successful project outcomes.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with clients, vendors, and internal team members.
- Demonstrate accountability and resilience when working under pressure or with shifting priorities.
- After hours support may be required with advanced notice.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in video production, digital content creation, and/or assisting with social media management.
- Demonstrated proficiency with content creation tools and equipment.
- Experience in setup and operation of professional video production gear, including cameras, lighting, and audio systems.
- Proven experience setting up AV production sites for filming and events.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms (e.g., X, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram) and best practices for video content optimization and distribution.
- Deep understanding of social media algorithms, trends, and platform-specific best practices for content optimization, with demonstrated ability to achieve high engagement.
- Demonstrated ability to assist in the crafting of compelling content, secure high-profile interviews, and consistently perform under tight deadlines, covering a diverse range of topics (e.g., news, health, policy, science).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
