The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Audio Visual (AV) Engineer to lead the engineering efforts behind the design delivery documentation, implementation and commissioning of AV systems. The ideal candidate will work closely with project managers, engineering team, and installation crews to ensure the successful delivery of AV projects across commercial, educational, corporate, or entertainment environments.

Responsibilities include:

• System Engineering
  
  
  
  • Create AV system engineering documentation using AutoCAD, StarDraw, Visio, D-Tools, or similar software.
  • Create detailed schematics, rack layouts, wiring diagrams, and elevation drawing sets
    
  
  
  
  
• Project Execution & Oversight
  
  
  
  
  • Collaborate with project managers and field technicians to ensure accurate system installations.
  • Provide technical support during system configuration, testing, commissioning, and client handover.
    
  
  
  
  
• Documentation & Communication
  
  
  
  • Maintain up-to-date technical documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with clients, architects, consultants, and other stakeholders to align technical expectations.
  • Train end-users and provide post-installation technical support when required.
  
  
  
  

Required Skills and Professional Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Audio Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience) or Military experience.
• 3+ years of experience in AV systems engineering, or integration.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, StarDraw, D-Tools, Visio, or similar design software.
• Strong understanding of AV signal flow, networked AV, control systems (Crestron, AMX, Extron), and conferencing platforms (Webex, Zoom, Teams).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  

Preferred Skills and Professional Experience:

• AVIXA CTS, CTS-D, or CTS-I certification.
• Experience with IP networking for AV applications.
• Familiarity with industry standards and best practices (AES, SMPTE, IEEE, etc.).
• Experience in live event production or broadcast environments (optional based on role focus).

Working Conditions:

• Occasional travel to client sites for meetings, surveys, and installations.
• Flexibility to work extended hours during project deadlines or system cutovers.
