Job Description


PCI is seeking an experienced Operations Manager for Austin 549 operations based in Austin, TX. This individual will oversee operations in Austin and JV's throughout Texas/US and is responsible for the following duties:




  • Manage business units for the estimating processes of all scopes performed by the branch.
  • Initiate and maintain customer contact which will enable securements and profitable execution of work.
  • Direct and manage the construction activities of projects in area of responsibility to maximize margin contribution results.
  • Interpret and analyze contract documents regarding terms, specifications, clarifications and requirements for each project.
  • Manage job site personnel to maintain effective relations with owners, engineers, subcontractors, contractors, unions, etc.
  • Implement the corporate program regarding loss control and claims management pertaining to workers compensation.
  • Analyze and monitor actual vs. estimated costs in order to develop action plans where unfavorable variances are detected. Ensure that an effective job control system is utilized on each project.
  • Responsible to solicit the assistance of the estimating department when necessary in order to assure maximum bidding activity without sacrificing quality.
  • Negotiate contract issues and variances and further negotiate change order, scope changes, claims and other project issues as required.
  • Work directly with general contractors and facility personnel.



Salary range: $160,000 - $190,000 annual salary plus non-guaranteed annualized bonus program.



Basic Requirements:



  • At least 15 years of Construction Management / Estimating professional work experience.
  • At least 5 years estimating and managing commercial scopes.
  • Bachelor's degree or technical degree in Construction Science or Construction Management or related discipline, or comparable work experience.



Minimum Requirements



  • Must possess proficiency with computer takeoff & estimating software.
  • Ability to perform quantitative takeoffs on construction projects.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • A clear understanding of how to read and understand specifications and drawings.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment while motivating and inspiring others.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask, critical think, and problem-solve.
  • Ability to learn new job skills by engaging in the technical aspects of the job and applying new skills as they are taught.



Preferred Requirements



  • Located within the Austin, TX metro.
  • Experience with Metal Studs and GWB systems, ACT, RAF, Cleanrooms, Cladding, IMP, and Insulation.
  • Working knowledge with all PCI systems.
  • General Contracting background with existing relationships in the Austin market.
  • Able to negotiate sales of projects as well as navigate schedules and proper flow of work.
