Position Title: Motor Vehicle Mechanic

Location: Gulfport CRTC, Gulfport, MS

Employment Status: Full-Time Regular

FLSA Classification: SCA Hourly

*This position is contingent upon award of contract.

Position Summary:

Advancia Government Services (a federal government contractor) seeks a qualified full-time Motor Vehicle Mechanic. The Motor Vehicle Mechanic performs a variety of major repairs and services to maintain medium to light duty tactical, commercial and transport vehicles.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

* The Motor Vehicle Mechanic is under the direct supervision of the Lead Mechanic and receives guidance from the Gov't Maintenance Manager

* The Motor Vehicle Mechanic performs a variety of major repairs and services to maintain medium to light duty tactical, commercial and transport vehicles

* Conducts research and prepares records and forms to reflect essential information

* Ensures all documents are finalized and maintained IAW local regulations

* Performs maintenance repair, rebuild, overhaul, inspect major assemblies and determine repair parts for equipment

* Checks and replaces batteries; rotate, repair and replace tires, pneumatic and flush cooling systems

* Removes, repairs or replaces engines, transmissions and differentials

* Adjusts brakes, replace windshields, wipers and similar components of the same characteristics

* Performs major overhauls by disassembling, cleaning, and replacing faulty components IAW appropriate procedures

* Repairs components such as generators, water/hydraulic pumps and electrical system

* Performs routine and extensive maintenance on diesel engines, fuel and exhaust systems, and electrical wiring

* Performs diagnostic tests using measuring devices, instruments, test equipment or special tools

* Required to dismantle components for internal examination of damage or excessive wear

* Operates and utilizes an assortment of tools to perform repairs that include power, pneumatic, and machinery such as grinding machines, presses, torch-cutting equipment, jacks and hoists to lift and move large components

* Required to add critical or explanatory notations on completed maintenance documents following equipment repair and testing IAW AFI 24-302.

* Performs other duties as assigned

Education, Experience and Skill Requirements:

* High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).

* Must possess a state issued driver's license.

* Must have experience and understanding of vehicle repair, electrical, heating systems and diesel maintenance.

* Knowledge and understanding of the following Air Force IT Systems: Vehicle Dispatch, DPAS, LMIS-EV Vehicle View TRT, AFI 24-301 and AFI 24-302.

* Able to obtain all required certifications for operating the following vehicles/assets within first 90 days:

o STLR LB 20T 38FT TRK 1/2T CREW CAB 4X4 TRK FL 10K AT 463L

o STLR VAN 30FT 12 TON TRK STK 4X2 1T 7000 GVW TRK-V 16000-24000 GVW 4X2

o TRK MAINT 3/4TON 4X4 GED PATROL PICKUP TRUCK TRAC TOW SUPPORT EQP

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills

* USAF 2T3X1 Mission Generation Vehicular Equipment Maintenance (4-6 yrs.).

* Currently holding required certifications and qualifications listed above.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

* Knowledge of proper use and procedures to manage hazardous materials and hazardous waste products

* Knowledge of the standard tools, equipment and material

* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally work outside

* Capable of collaborating with Senior Leaders.

* Skills in monitoring program progress against execution of plans, metrics and desired outcomes, assessing and identifying capability gaps and opportunities for improvement to enable a culture of high performance, and managing multiple complex programs in a fast-paced environment with many partners and stakeholders.

* Ability to work as part of a team with strong interpersonal skills.

* Strong command of Microsoft Office and ability to produce deliverables that carry a "stamp of excellence."

* Able to understand, adhere to and enforce corporate values, policies, procedures, and standards.

* Good interpersonal and communication skills.

* Good business writing and oral communication skills.

* Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension).

* Better-than-average skill in current versions of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

* Capable of passing background investigation and periodic drug testing.

Additional Qualifying Factors

* Must be authorized to work in the US

* Possess a valid driver's license (any state), ability to operate a motor vehicle, able to provide clean driving record and current vehicle insurance coverage.

* Eligible for access onto military installations following background and security checks.

* Flexibility with work schedule is mandatory because it impacts the ability to support and serve military.
