Position Summary


Pregis LLC, a leading global provider of innovative packaging solutions, is seeking a Sr. HR Generalist based at its Anderson, SC manufacturing facility, which operates on a 24/7 schedule with approximately 150 employees.


Pregis Performance Flexibles is a leading blown films manufacturer focused on developing high-quality, converter-grade sealant films, and other flexible packaging solutions. Our expansive resources, talent and innovative products are engineered to solve the critical needs of our customers and the complex end markets in which we operate.


Reporting to the Human Resources Director, the Sr. HR Generalist is an internal customer-facing role supporting employees and managers. The focus is fostering effective employee relations and delivering robust policies, practices, and solutions to optimize employee engagement, further the business's success, and ensure compliance with employment law and regulations.



Essential Responsibilities



  • Provide guidance, coaching, and counsel to leaders and managers on issues pertaining to performance management, employee relations, learning and development, and other strategic and tactical people matters.
  • Respond to, investigate, and support the effective resolution of employee concerns and incidents, ensuring fair and consistent application of HR policies and practices


  • Work cross functionally with supervisors and leaders, offering insights into performance consistency as well as employment matters.
  • Lead and drive talent management initiatives at the site, which include employee retention, performance management process, talent assessments, and change initiatives.
  • Fosters employee involvement at all levels with the use of excellent communication, organization, facilitation, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Communicate benefit changes to employees and assist employees in benefit related questions. Provide prompt and accurate guidance to employees regarding all benefit programs including timely orientation programs.


  • Act as the voice of the employee, directly building relationships with employees across functional areas as well as identifying and implementing new channels for engagement (Town Halls, focus groups, Intranet, etc.) and generally being a visible representative of the human resources team and leadership across the entire employee population
  • Support the development of new and evolving initiatives by the HR team by analyzing activity, trends, and data, and developing recommendations for solutions
  • Actively coach, train, and develop hourly and salaried managers and employees through new program launches to project implementation and follow up.
  • Implement and administer programs and initiatives to support employee engagement and development, including compliance training, employee recognition, and employee appreciation.
  • Ensures management practices are consistent with all federal, state, and local employment laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Administer the employment function, which includes recruiting and screening applicants, facilitating the use of any temporary employment agencies, and managing the job posting system for internal/external candidates following company and legal guidelines.
  • Managing Worker's Compensation Insurance issues, including making recommendations to facilitate the timely closing of claims.
  • Coordinate, facilitate, and/or assist with training activities within the facility (i.e. safety compliance, orientation programs, job knowledge, and leadership performances).
  • Provide prompt and accurate guidance to employees regarding all benefit programs including timely orientation programs.
  • Maintain all records following EEO, privacy, and related requirements.
  • Advise management teams regarding prompt and accurate completion of all status changes and ensure prompt and accurate updated information in the HRIS system.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, supervisors, and managers, referring complex and/or sensitive matters.



Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business, or related field preferred; combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Highly effective communication skills, especially in de-escalating charged situations and clearly describing HR policies and practices both verbally and in writing
  • Subject matter expertise in best practices, employment laws, and regulations impacting HR, especially those impacting employee relations
  • Tech-savvy with knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Ability to maintain and report confidential information in an appropriate manner
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Flexibility to cover an employee base that is scheduled 24/7
