About the role
The Operational Assurance Manager will be responsible for overseeing assurance audits across the firm to monitor compliance with policies and procedures. Key activities include supporting planning, fieldwork-with a heavy emphasis on reviewing-and drafting reports. This role emphasizes upskilling existing team members and includes control testing, remediation planning & support, and evaluating the effectiveness of training and internal controls.

You will be responsible for overseeing and supporting the day-to-day functions of the Operations Assurance team. Key player in planning, conducting and reporting on audits and control testing. Help mature the program by enhancing documentation, training and reporting capabilities. Routine interaction with all aspects of the business including Enterprise Risk Management and all key functional areas. Lead the tracking and escalation of remediation items. A critical part of this role will be develop the existing team members skill sets.

This is a remote role.

What you'll be doing



  • Lead planning and project management efforts for the assurance plan.
  • Oversee assurance audits to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Monitor control processes and procedures to identify areas for improvement.
  • Perform control testing and analyze results to ensure compliance with standards for complex and/or sensitive areas.
  • Supports the department's efforts to integrate technology and data analytics into assurance processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide support during internal and external audits, ensuring that all necessary documentation is available.
  • Assist in evaluating and reporting on the effectiveness of training programs and related practices.
  • Work with site teams to develop effective remediation plans to address issues, including performing root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement strategies for enhancing compliance and operational effectiveness.
  • Prepare detailed reports outlining audit findings, compliance levels, and recommendations for improvements.
  • Facilitate communication with stakeholders regarding compliance and assurance efforts
  • Perform detail reviews of all control testing to provide concise, clear and constructive feedback to assurance analysts.
  • Enhance Assurance Analysts skill sets by providing teaching/training sessions around Audit/control testing
  • Present key findings and reports to stakeholders
  • Connect with stakeholders at various committee meetings or other means to stay informed on changes to current processes

Who we're looking for



  • High school diploma or GED is required


  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field preferred
  • Audit & Risk Certifications a plus


  • Minimum of 6 years' experience with business/operational management and/or auditing/ financial controls
  • At least 4 years of overseeing/leading audits/reviews
  • At least 4 years of having direct reports and/or heavy oversight of team members
  • Implementing a new program and/or experience with less mature environments a plus.
  • Sarbanes Oxley, Property Management or military housing experience a plus
  • Knowledge and experience with COSO
  • Strong understanding of policies, regulations and standards.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • General knowledge of property management/ facilities management/ operations a plus
  • Planning/organizing - Ability to organize work, set priorities and make productive use of time.
  • Adaptability - Ability to accept changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and can deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Integrity - Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company.
  • Ability to travel 40% time
  • Possession of a valid state issues driver's license and safe driving record are required

Salary Range: $120,000 - $130,000 yr.*
