Intern - Valuation Advisory (M&E Practice)

Our 10-week Intern program is designed for students interested in pursuing a career in machinery and equipment ("M&E") valuation. Interns in the M&E Practice of the Valuation Advisory group perform engagements for various purposes including, but not limited to, financial reporting; property tax consulting; financial, tax, and regulatory requirements; insurance reporting; and financing. Interns will have experience appraising commercial and industrial assets in a wide variety of businesses, and working with facility management and accounting staff in various commercial, manufacturing, and other industrial environments.

Interns at Stout have the opportunity to gain client exposure and improve their technical skills while working under Stout professionals.

What You'll Do:

  • Analyze and perform independent valuation analyses of complex financial statements and fixed asset listings to construct and interpret asset valuation models;
  • Conduct in-depth cost and market research to generate strategic insights and recommendations on various M&E categories;
  • Conduct on-site inspections and structured data collection at client locations applying professional judgment in assessing relevant operational, financial and physical information;
  • Participate in client or management meetings providing substantive input on valuation methodologies, assumptions and conclusions; and
  • Create comprehensive deliverables and supporting analysis including presentations, analysis packets, and written narratives - relied upon by our senior level professionals and delivery to our clients.

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a BA/BS required.
  • Preferred coursework in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 required; 3.5 or higher preferred.
  • Highly detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other analytical tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to convey complex financial and technical concepts clearly and persuasively.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US, without employer sponsorship, at the time of hire and in the future.
