Discipline Description

Quality Assurance personnel develop policies, procedures, and methods to evaluate and improve the quality of products, materials, components and/or operations. They ensure products, services, or processes meet established quality standards and customer requirements. They develop, assure, and maintain the quality of products and processes, including standard procedures, and quality audits/reviews.

Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include:

As a Weapon Quality Program Engineer, you will participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of processes, procedures, and applications that contribute to sustaining an effective Weapon Quality Management System (WQMS). You will be responsible for developing and maintaining weapon quality documents to ensure they adhere to required standards and guidelines. In this role, you will serve as a point of contact for NAP401.1A and DPBPS requirements. Leveraging extensive experience in successfully leading and engaging people, you will utilize strong interpersonal skills to facilitate communication, collaborate effectively, and build consensus among stakeholders. You will possess advanced knowledge and experience with key quality documents and standards such as NNSA Weapon Quality Policy NAP 401.1A and SD 452.3-1A Defense Programs Business Process System.
This mid-career position will support a Weapon Quality Program at SRS.

This job may require some travel.

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in relevant field plus at least two years of experience (YOE) in a relevant role, OR Master's degree in relevant field
* Equivalencies to experience and education requirements will be considered

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug & alcohol test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
