Location: Colorado Springs, CO (United States Air Force Acacemy)

Type: Exempt

Work Schedule: Full Time, Day Shift

Compensation: $110,000 - $125,000 Annually, dependent on experience

Tessera is seeking a confident and capable Facilities Maintenance Manager who thrives on leadership, precision, and purpose. Overseeing total facilities at USAFA, you'll play a vital role in ensuring mission-critical buildings and infrastructure remain safe, functional, and fully operational. You'll lead skilled trades teams, manage daily maintenance activities, and uphold the highest standards of service and contract compliance. Typical duties include but are not limited to:

Core Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Develop a strong understanding of AbilityOne and SourceAmerica programs.
  • Uphold and embody Tessera's core values.
  • Align team goals with Tessera's value proposition, ensuring highly engaged employees contribute to customer satisfaction.
  • Identify and mitigate safety hazards on job sites through effective risk controls and utilize Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA).
  • Conduct root cause analyses to promote a safe working environment and maintain adherence to Tessera's Accident Reporting process.
  • Foster positive client interactions using effective interpersonal skills, demonstrating respect, empathy, and responsiveness.

Essential Duties:

  • Supervise daily operations and maintenance of utility systems including water distribution, wastewater treatment, steam plants, and electrical infrastructure.
  • Coordinate preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities across utility assets.
  • Monitor system performance, identify inefficiencies, and implement improvements to optimize energy use and reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and federal regulations (e.g., EPA, OSHA).
  • Manage utility personnel, including technicians and operators; oversee training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
  • Maintain documentation such as maintenance logs, inspection reports, permits, and regulatory filings.
  • Collaborate with engineering and project teams on utility upgrades, expansions, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Respond to utility outages and emergencies, ensuring timely resolution and communication with base leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related maintenance field preferred
  • Minimum 5 years in facilities maintenance or work control, with supervisory experience in a multi-trade environment.
  • Proficiency in Maximo or other CMMS platforms
  • Strong understanding of shop operations and building systems
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to interpret contract requirements and interact professionally with military and government personnel
  • Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Physical Requirements:

  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Requirements:

  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Common Access Card (CAC) for this position.
  • A valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance.
