Senior Buyer (Purchasing Agent):

Multiple openings available. Develop and implement commodity purchasing strategies, ensuring alignment with business objectives and cost-effectiveness. Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and strategic fit. Monitor the performance of the Supplier Panel's commodities and perform regular Supplier Performance reviews, including corrective action plan and continuous improvement plan follow-up. Prepare periodic reviews on local and global QCD performance status, strategic positioning evaluation, business perspectives, and strategic service/product/market developments. Participate in the tendering process, including sourcing, analyzing bids, and negotiating contracts to optimize purchasing decisions.

Negotiate pricing agreements, long-term contracts, and purchasing terms with suppliers. Monitor market trends, cost models, and supplier capabilities to drive competitive pricing and sourcing strategies.

Issue and approve purchase orders, ensuring compliance with purchasing policies and supplier agreements. Track and assess all types of risks related to the commodities, addressing disruptions and implementing mitigation strategies. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure purchasing aligns with operational and financial goals. Maintain detailed purchasing records and reports, providing insights on purchasing performance and strategic sourcing initiatives. Requires up to 10% domestic & 5% international travel for stakeholder meetings, conferences, or trainings. Telecommuting may be permitted up to 2-3 days per week. When not telecommuting, must report to 100 Rodolphe St, Durham, NC 27712. Salary: $94,000 - $130,000 per year.

Bachelor's Degree or U.S. equivalent in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Business Administration, or related field, plus 5 years of professional experience as a Buyer, Procurement Specialist, Purchase Agent, or any occupation/position/job title involving purchasing and negotiation of products and services. In lieu of a bachelor's degree plus 5 years of experience, the employer will accept a Master's Degree or U.S. equivalent in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Business Administration, or related field, plus 3 years of professional experience as a Buyer, Procurement Specialist, Purchase Agent, or any occupation/position/job title involving purchasing and negotiation of products and services.

Must also have experience in the following: 3 years of professional experience purchasing products and services within biotechnology or in vitro diagnostics industry; 3 years of professional experience selecting and qualifying suppliers, understanding products and services, preparing and leading negotiations; 3 years of professional experience performing contract management and legal awareness, target costing, and managing multicultural interfaces; 3 years of professional experience managing suppliers, commodities, and projects; 3 years of professional experience analyzing financial indicators (including revenue, budget, spend, PPV, and Standard Cost); 3 years of professional experience analyzing KPIs including Supplier Performance, Cost, and Delivery; 3 years of professional experience communicating with buyers, internal customers, and suppliers; 2 years of professional experience performing Project Management; and 1 year of professional experience implementing Risk Management.
