Job Description

SUMMARY:

The Program Manager I of the PHI Center on Disability and Pacific ADA Center manages statewide and regional efforts aimed at improving the accessibility and inclusiveness of community businesses. These efforts include identifying and developing ongoing relationships with business partners in priority sectors determined by strategic planning. Priority areas include increasing number of business partners; numbers of trainings, technical assistance, and consultations to the business community; and overall access and inclusion for community members with disabilities. The Program Manager I offers strategic input and helps shape direction on the strategic development, planning, implementation, operations, and evaluation of business partnership initiatives that focus on inclusion and access in the private sector. This position reports directly to the Program Director.

This is a time-limited, part-time position that is expected to work 25% FTE (with a standard schedule of 10 hours per week) for six months. This is a remote position that is required to work from home in the San Francisco Bay Area. The incumbent must be able to travel to community partners and community events regularly.

Full salary range for this position: $84,177 to $124,412 per year based on 100% FTE. The typical hiring range for this position is from $84,177 (minimum) to $104,295 (midpoint), based on 100% FTE. The starting salary is determined using a variety of factors, such as the candidate's knowledge, skills, and experience, as well as internal equity consideration and budget availability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

30% Program Management: Oversees planning, implementation and evaluation of initiatives aimed at building connections with the business community. Provides feedback on the development of program materials, resources and toolkits.

30% Partnership Identification, Evaluation and Development: Identifies potential strategic partners, develops and maintains partnerships with business organizations to support and advance the goals of the Center on Disability. Organizations may include private businesses and affiliated business membership organizations at the local, state, and national levels and other entities with goals that align with PHI. Primary focus will be on San Francisco Bay Area businesses.

20% Training, Technical Assistance, and Consultation: Working in collaboration with team members, oversee the provision of and participate in providing training and technical assistance to key stakeholders in the business sector.

10% Development/Fundraising: identify funding opportunities at the local, state, and national level and assist in the development of funding proposals. Under the direction of the Deputy Director and Program Director, establish and maintain relationship with donors, customers, and partners.

10% Performs other duties as required by the Program Director.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 years of project management experience related to disability access and inclusion.
  • 5 years of experience working with private sector partners.
  • Bachelor's degree, or substitute with four additional years of relevant experience.

Other Qualifications

  • Lived personal experience with a disability.
  • Proven ability to deliver written and oral communication/presentations related to disability to an audience.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Experience with program evaluation and fundraising is essential.
  • Experience and expertise in project management, relationship/coalition-building, and program development to meet clients' needs.
  • Proficient in computer basics, including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Team-player and able to work cooperatively and effectively with a team to set goals, resolve problems and make decisions that promote program effectiveness.
  • Professional, dependable and detail oriented.
  • Ability to interact professionally with all levels of management and community partners.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively to meet tight deadlines.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to prepare and deliver presentations and prepare written reports, correspondence, proposals, and other materials for a variety of audiences.
  • Master's degree in business, public health, public policy, social work or related field preferred.
