The Oncology US Medical Excellence and Training role will work closely with Global & US Medical Education and Training colleagues and with the Global & US MALT (Medical Affairs Leadership Team) to develop and maintain all Medical Affairs training curricula both in terms of technical as well as soft skills. The candidate in this position will demonstrate a thorough understanding of the medical training needs for both office-based and field-based associates. This role will create an environment of accountability by communicating expectations, timelines and disseminating information for trainings and certifications.

The impact this role will have on the organization includes the following: a) will communicate key information about Eisai and its hhc mission, as well as demonstrate a pattern of good judgment; b) effectively communicate relevant and fair balanced scientific and clinical information about Eisai's products; seek feedback from MSLs, MSL Management and Medical Affairs management to ensure needs are being met; leverage a variety of communication channels to provide training; c) in collaboration with reputable institutions and providers ensure the development of competences aligned with industry standards as it relates to soft skills, business skills, and emotional intelligence d) consistently support senior management decisions and train colleagues and new hires to think strategically in an effort to support decisions made by senior management. e) increase the proficiency of the Global & US Medical Affairs colleagues regarding Eisai's marketed products (data) / disease states, pipeline, as well as, competitor data ultimately fostering scientific exchange with key HCPs and KOLs.

Essential Functions:

* New hire Global & US Medical Affairs onboarding, 90-day training plan/schedule, and their scientific training and certification

* Global & US medical teams continuing education (disease states and data), including treatment landscape training and certification. Utilize Medical Directors, Field Medical Directors (FMDs), and MSL Disease State Leads at discretion as appropriate

* Work closely with MALT, Medical Education & Training, Medical Strategy, and Field Medical to identify training needs, plan for the most appropriate educational programs and manage project budget by forecasting & prioritizing projects to assist with internal training and scientific exchange via the use of PMRC approved slide decks.

* Develop and monitor metrics and KPIs to assess effectiveness of educational activities. Provide senior management with regular updates on these metrics also highlighting actionable trends and patterns.

* Work closely with Medical Communications colleagues to maintain updated PMRC/CRC approved slide decks required for MSL scientific exchange and for answering unsolicited questions.

* Coordinate Sales/Commercial training by MSLs, based on request from Sales Training.

* Work closely with US MSL Leads, MSL Management, Medical Directors to determine strategic importance of medical data presented at congresses / medical meetings in an effort to create daily highlights and executive summaries for US distribution & training.

Requirements:

* Advanced terminal degree (MD, PharmD, PhD,) in medical/biosciences.

* Minimum of 3 years' experience in training, medical affairs/ excellence, or related and relevant function.

* Oncology disease management knowledge in the therapeutic areas of interest to Eisai.

* Strong broad based scientific and pharmaceutical knowledge, as well as, excellent presentation and teaching skills.

* Strong overall written and verbal communication skills.

* Proven ability to train professionals on soft skills, strategic thinking, and business acumen.

* Must have thorough knowledge and experience within Eisai desired therapeutic area(s); comfortable and confident speaking about multiple drug indications/disease state management and competitor products and data.

* Thorough understanding of the pharmaceutical corporate environment and appreciation for Commercial Operations including Marketing and Sales strategic interests.

* Understanding and ability to effectively communicate the role and value provided by Medical Affairs.

* Ability to motivate and teach team members without a direct reporting relationship.

* Demonstrated ability to think critically, analyze situations and achieve goals.

* Excellent computer skills including Microsoft PowerPoint, Word & Excel.

* This is a remote role with the ability to travel as needed to Conferences and internal meetings, up to 10- 20% of the time.

Eisai Salary Transparency Language:

The base salary range for the Associate Director, US Medical Excellence & Training is from :182,200-239,100 Under current guidelines, this position is eligible to participate in : Eisai Inc. Annual Incentive Plan & Eisai Inc. Long Term Incentive Plan.

Final pay determinations will depend on various factors including but not limited to experience level, education, knowledge, and skills.
