Become a Project Engineer for GeoStructures, Inc.

Responsibilities

In this position, you will gain experience that many Geotechnical Engineers look for early in their career but rarely find. We are a design-build firm, so you have the opportunity to see the installation of what you design. You earn cradle-to-grave experience in DESIGN, from preliminary design during the sales phase, being innovate during the value engineering phase, and perfecting your work in the final design phase prior to mobilization to the customer's construction site for installation.

This position is more than soil testing or writing geotechnical reports. You will utilize the geotechnical reports to determine which solution solves the project's unique foundation challenges and perform state-of-the-practice engineering analysis for a variety of geotechnical construction applications. You will produce construction drawings and design calculations for a wide range of support of excavation, earth retention, and ground modification projects.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates should have an E.I.T. certification, a Master's Degree (preferred, but not required) with a Geotechnical Engineering focus, or an undergraduate Civil Engineering Degree with support of excavation design and/or geotechnical industry experience. Knowledge of software packages, including LPILE, SLIDE, GSTABL, SETTLE3D, MSEW, and Microsoft Office products, is a plus.

Essential Job Duties:


  • Review of project geotechnical data and structural information from a variety of regions encompassing a wide range of geologic settings,
  • Assist senior engineers in developing preliminary ground improvement designs using a variety of proprietary ground improvement products, such as

    • Driven Pile
    • Concrete Pile
    • Ductile Iron Pile
    • Steel H Pile
    • Auger Cast Pile
    • Drilled Shafts
    • Full Displacement Piles
    • Helical Pile
    • Micro-Pile


  • Assisting in cost estimating, design plan and specification review, working closely with sales and construction management staff.
  • Prepare final design drawings and calculations for use of GeoStructures' project managers and project design team.
  • Respond to field issues and design updates during construction of ground improvement products.


Physical Requirements

  • This position work remotely with minimal travel.
  • Construction site walk-downs with potential customers to understand services needed
