We are currently seeking an Accounts Payable Accountant to join our Boart Longyear team in West Valley, Utah. The individual in this role will own the procure-to-pay cycle to ensure timely, accurate processing of supplier invoices and payments across multiple entities and currencies. They will also maintain strong vendor relationships, enforce internal controls, and support the monthly close process, reporting, and audits.

Responsibilities



  • Process high-volume vendor invoices using 2-/3-way match to POs/receipts; code non-PO invoices to correct GL accounts/cost centers for multiple companies and complex, multi-currency vendors.
  • Maintain vendor master data; collect/validate tax documentation (e.g., W-9s) and support 1099 reporting.
  • Schedule and execute payment runs (ACH, wire, check, card) aligned to payment terms and cash-management controls; capture early-payment discounts.
  • Prepare monthly balance-sheet reconciliations for AP-related accounts; reconcile the AP subledger to the GL and resolve reconciling items promptly.
  • Create journal entries for accruals (including GR/IR) and corrections; support month-end close schedules and AP aging.
  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies, holds, and price/quantity variances; clear historical AP issues.
  • Generate AP reports/metrics for internal stakeholders and leadership.
  • Provide support for external/internal audits with complete documentation for internal controls.
  • Serve as AP point-of-contact for cross-functional inquiries; assist teammates and other departments via phone, email, and instant message.
  • Act as the AP subject-matter expert for process improvement/automation initiatives.
  • Perform special projects as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in a business field (Accounting, Finance, etc.) or equivalent experience.
  • 2-4 years of related experience; accounts payable experience required (invoice processing, vendor statement reconciliation, PO matching).
  • Proficiency with large ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics) and strong Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, PivotTables); Word and related productivity tools.
  • Ability to perform repetitive accounting/clerical tasks accurately and quickly while prioritizing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated, customer-service focused, detail-oriented, and flexible; strong written and verbal communication.
  • Exposure to foreign-currency transactions/conversions.
  • Preferred: Experience with AP automation tools.
